An Exalting Type of Kindlebook, May 23, 2017
This kindlebook of The Smart Cookies' Guide to Making More Dough and Getting Out of Debt: How Five Young Women Got Smart, Formed a Money Group, and Took Control of Their Finances by The Smart Cookies and Jennifer Barrett gave me some helpful ideas on the type of income and lifestyle to keep in mind for getting close to achieving my money goals. One feature that I liked about this kindlebook is that the women truthfully shared the career paths that they are working in, including their income. This is helpful to me, even as a woman who has been on various after tax money income spectrums, and is a temporary/seasonal employee who is in the process of working on being a more permanent type of employee who makes after tax income year round. It is important to keep in mind because some of the success stories lean towards ambitious women who have had successful careers in public relations. I also like that they featured the story of a woman named Robyn who succeeded in her goal of getting a higher paying job as well as completing the educational goal she set out to do within 18 months of joining Smart Cookies. This is important to me because I have seen too many money/finance articles that imply that an older adult has to choose between one or the other (making more money in their career life andor going back to college/university for more education). It is good to see a success story where a person was able to both increase their income and successfully complete their educational objectives. One of the women featured in the story went on to become a marketing manager (Andrea) and another person landed a job as a PR manager (Sandra). I only wish that I had purchased this kindlebook sooner than I did.

Just One Star Because, May 23, 2017
This kindlebook of Conversations with Nostradamus: Volume 1by Dolores Cannon has a good premise. The premise of gathering various viewpoints to disseminate their communications through mediums coming from different backgrounds would also make for a good fiction novel andor movie/tv show. One thing that has me feeling as if the author may have been coming from a benevolent place but channeling in/filtering in their own creative subconscious/creative imagination; there is talk of Nostradamus seeing into the future via certain lights but nothing too different that could be written into a fiction story. To appeal to people who are medically curious, there is discussion of medical instruments that are used. I have an open mind when it comes to channeled material and I am aware that the author of this book probably truly felt that there was no chance that their own perception filter would come in. However, this kindlebook is more of a mix of possible probably and fictional account of channeled communications that might have happened rather than completely new age non-fiction.

Extensive Detail Packed, May 23, 2017
I actually bought this kindlebook of Public Relations and Social Media for the Curious: Why Study Public Relations and Social Media? (A Decision-Making Guide to College Majors, Research & Scholarships, and Career Success) by the Curious Academic Publishing Group on May 28, 2016. However, the only difference was that I was still deciding for sure when and if I would go after this degree since this would be my second time going after a bachelor’s degree. I already have one completed bachelor’s degree, yet now I have my mind made up for sure when I intend to start and even how many online classes I can realistically afford per year with my current situation. This kindlebook has leadins to other sections a person could look at if they are 100% sure about studying public relations. One of the sections referenced in this kindlebook is So You Want to Be a Communication Major? Opportunities in the 21st Century by Teri Varner. This kindlebook references Edward Bernays as one of the early proponents of public relations. There is also a section of a reference list and suggested references such as the link for the website “Media and Communications” United States Department of Labor (Occupational Handbook). They discuss internships which comes in handy because I have actually spoke with at least two females at my current job before were one was going on to an internship (and one who did an internship before) but for whatever reason I never bothered to ask them about their experiences with them (though I know I should have). There is a feature on transmedia storytelling for brands. I find this helpful because I know for sure that I would like my minor to be related to some type of writing andor scripting component. Scholarships that are available for domestic and international students are also featured in this kindlebook with the mention of the University of Southern California.

Mysticism of Love, May 23, 2017
Much to my pleasant surprise, I actually found Xanadu to be a pleasant film to watch. Xanadu features the story of muse Kira (Olivia Newton John who is also is known as Terpsichore) who captivates the attention of artist Sonny Malone (Michael Beck). Little does Sonny Malone know at first that Kira is actually one of the nine muses. All he knows is how he is drawn in to the love he feels for her. Sonny Malone also meets Danny McGuire (Gene Kelly) who becomes an important and positive influence in his life. Many may remember Gene Kelly from such movies as Anchors Away and Singin in the Rain. This film is a little bit of a creative mashup between the Grease movie that Olivia Newton John played in and Singin in the Rain, yet is works to original effect. Xanadu is perfect if you like musical type of movies with a mystical element.

Things Andor People Can At Times Be Different Than They Appear To Be, May 23, 2017
Down to Earth is an extremely uplifting film that stars Rita Hayworth as a muse named Terpsichore who is very upset about being portrayed more sensual than she wants to be by Danny Miller (Larry Parks). Terpsichore schemes her way to be able to go back on earth to try to shape the play to her liking. Mr. Jordan (Roland Culver) approves of her request and a spirit assigned to help Terpsichore by the name of Messenger 7013 (Edward Everett Horton) was actually looking forward to vacationing when he was tasked to help on earth. However, the film creatively illustrates in a healing way, how sometimes we are not always in a certain place for ourselves but sometimes for others as well. Miller’s friend Eddie (Marc Platt) has a seemingly justified reasons for being distant towards Kitty Pendleton (muse Terpsichore). Additionally, Eddie does not know that Kitty Pendleton is more than how she appears on the outside and is around for another reason that she herself does not even know yet, so it is understandable why Eddie acts the way he does. However, little does Eddie know and even Kitty herself, that she is there for a reason way outside of why she thought she was allowed to be there to begin with. I understand that others going to see the film differently than I. However, what I took away from this cheery film is that a person is sometimes granted what they want through God, universe, heaven etc, but with some type of unexplained catch that they might not realize until later. Because Down to Earth is a sequel to Here Comes Mr. Jordan, there are people who may understandably recognize the Max Corkle (James Gleason) character in this film from the Here Comes Mr. Jordan film. My only caveat with the film’s message is that there seems to be an implication at first that a woman cannot be sensual and spiritual at the same time. Yes, I understand that the time period to the fictional movie explains why Terpsichore felt the way she did. It is just that I obviously believe that being spiritual and sensual can safely co-exist together.

A Very Determined Woman?, May 23, 2017
It is extremely personal and unexpected on how I came across this film One Touch of Venus. What I do feel comfortable saying is that this film is definitely more than I expected it to be beyond the description. The character of Eddie Hatch (Robert Walker) is a bumbling department store employee who is engaged to Glorida(Olga San Juan) who has both beauty and a heart of gold. Hatch also has a close friend Joe Grant (Richard Hames) who works with him at the same job and is a mutual friend to Ed and Molly. Ed’s boring but at least quiet/peaceful life is shaken up when he is tasked with getting ready the statue of Venus (Ava Gardner) for his boss Whitfield Savory (Tom Conway). When the Venus statue goes missing, Savory at first thinks that Ed must have purposely did it since he was responsible for the Venus statue. Savory’s assistant Molly Stewart (Eve Arden) tries to explain that she doubts Hatch would even think of stealing the statue because of his harm-free demeanor. Meanwhile, Hatch has to contend with the Venus statue (Ava Gardner) coming to life and entrancing him with her physical beauty. Most women would move on to another man andor another opportunity if they are unsure of their feelings being romantically reciprocated. However, Venus is undeterred when Ed Hatch tries to calmly explain about Gloria in his life. I must refrain from saying more for now, just only to say that it would definitely be interesting if the song Venus by Bananarama is included as the movie soundtrack if a modern remake of One Touch of Venus were to be made again.

Dazzling and Seductive Club Tune, May 23, 2017
This song Lady (feat. Pitbull) by Austin Mahone is a steamy club and dance type of song. The music video for this song goes very well with it as the singer is shown with a group of friends going into a a place that is completely different from how it appears on the outside. For those still undecided, you might like this song if you enjoy Austin Mahone’s Mmm Yeah song (also featuring Pitbull) as the Lady song is in a similar party and buoyant type of vibe.

Adore’s Creative Musical Cousin, May 23, 2017
The song Malibu by Miley Cyrus appears to be a very joyful type of song that seems to be about how both Malibu andor being in love can change someone for the better (I’m just guessing the meaning). The music appears to have a cheerful summer type of pop feel that can still be played year round yet can also go as a summer anthem. I would have to say that those who like Miley Cyrus’s Adore song may enjoy Malibu as well because Malibu seems to be a joyful themed type of song as Adore is.
