Secret Agent Perry, August 19, 2012
"Disney Phineas and Ferb: The Perry Files" is a colorful dvd containing fourteen various episodes. These episodes emphasize the dual role of Perry's character as both covert secret agent and a cherished member of the Phineas and Ferb family. "Bullseye","Roadtrip","Candace Disconnected", and "Brain Drain" are among some of my favorite episodes from the tv series. The bonuses featured are an animated parody ad for the OWCA and a feature on the "Perry Platypus Tour Bus". There is also an "activity kit" that includes a refrigerator magnet, a puzzle, a postcard, stickers, and a "clue finders" picture. "Disney and Ferb:The Perry Files" is a great dvd if you enjoy at least three Phineas and Ferb episodes from any of the seasons.

Supernatural Camelot, August 19, 2012
"Merlin: The Complete First Season" is a mystical and uplifting show around the spiritual tests of each character in Merlin. All the actors contributed in each way towards the outcome of the overall resident well-being in Camelot. Colin Morgan cleverly plays the character of a Merlin who must help King Arthur Pendragon(powerfully played by Bradley James) without revealing the use of magic. John Hurt plays a compelling role of "The Great Dragon", a being who Merlin secretly consults with for help in magically prevailing over various tests.Richard Wilson plays Gaius, a firm and wise mentor to Merlin. Anthony Head plays the convincing role of Uther Pendragon, a headstrong father to King Arthur who is extremely brutal to those caught practicing magic. However, Head's portrayal of Uther also means well in protecting his son Arthur Pendragon and maintaining a good kingdom for his citizens. Angel Coulby and Katie MCGrath persuasively play the characters of Guinevere and Lady Morgana Pendragon. I also really enjoyed that the show portrays two female characters that are loyal friends to each other. Additionally, Katie McGrath's Lady Morgana plays an assertive and clairvoyant woman who courageously stands by Angel Coulby's Guinevere character in both happy and adverse times. The first season Merlin dvds contain among the following great bonuses: Behind The Magic (Parts One and Two): All of the characters are covered in their full glory and are shown as down to earth people who just want to contribute towards a meaningful show. Video Diaries divided up by Colin Morgan and Colin, Bradley, plus the Cast: I enjoyed seeing them share what they go through in perfecting various scenes for the series. It was also great watching all of them having a fun time at a theme park roller coaster. Photo Gallery: There are superb photos of both the key villians and the benevolent characters during the first season. Wallpapers: You have to insert this dvd into your computer, but there are an eclectic assortment of images that one can view for desktop background ideas. There are 13 episodes divided among 4 dvds, with the fifth dvd featuring the bonuses and wallpaper. Of course I enjoyed each episode. However, my two overall favorite episodes from the first season are "Moment of Truth" and "The Labyrinth of Gedref". "Merlin: The Complete First Season" is best for those who enjoy mystical tv shows with spiritual themes.

Ethereal Mansions, August 19, 2012
"God's Many Mansions" by Michael Dennis largely centers around the author's mystical experiences. I am glad to hear of his journeys on how he successfully transformed heartbreak into energy for greater creativity and spiritual enlightenment. However, I respectfully disagree with what he implied on page 69 when it was mentioned that you are not supposed to have a relationship with your best friend. I am fortunate to report that my husband and I are best friends. Additionally, I have also read that the strongest marriage and/or partnerships involve people that are best friends and stick by each other through both good and challenging times. I do enjoy the poem that he shares on pages 87-90. There is also some helpful information on the following pages: Page 180: The reminder of why making the subconscious active is one of the keys towards life improvement. Pages 232-233: The power that is contained within everyone but just needs to be awoken. Pages 245-246: There is discussion about more benefits that occur from directing increased attention on the subconscious mind. Page 255:The power and significance around working with personal belief systems. Page 394:The healing benefits of using music and sound towards restoring soul wholeness. God's Many Mansions by Michael Dennis is good for those who like to read autobiographical books around mystical experiences combined with ideas for increasing quality of life.

Heavenly 911, August 19, 2012
"Celestial 911" by Robert Stone is a guide that combines the use of imagination activities with planning of personal guides. There are examples listed of a man who lived an extra ordinary life (pg. 31 Walter Russell). Details are also shared in chapter nine (pages 193-214) on how to transform any jealousy directed at you into fuel for a life of increased luck. Helpful points are also made on how to tell if you need to be more of your own best friend. Pages 225-227 include fun ideas on using visual images towards personal dreams. "Celestial 911" is best for those who are open to books that include right brain activities.

Keys To The Spirit Realm, August 13, 2012
"Keys To The Spirit World" by Jennifer O'Neill is an invaluable guide that contains tips on tapping into spiritual assistance and connecting with benevolent forces of good. The following is among some of the important information written in this book: Pages 10-12: Information on the definition of spirit guides and why this arena is competition-free when it comes to petitioning for help. Page 25: Why both dreams and meditation can be helpful. Page 86: The importance of resisting the temptation to "give up" and why its beneficial to persist. "Keys To The Spirit World" by Jennifer O'Neill is a strong guide and quick read (only 87 pages) for those who hunger for spiritual truth and added information on spirit communication.

Merlin Music, August 13, 2012
"Merlin" (the Original Television Soundtrack) by Rob Lane features musical tracks that fit perfectly with the theme of what Merlin represents. "The Tournament Begins", "The Magic Shield", "The Witche's Aria" and "The Call of Destiny" are only some of the soothing and powerful musical compositions on this cd. I hope that in the future that another Merlin soundtrack is made with some of the following spiritual themed songs and various artists: "Fairyland" by Angelzoom, "Magic Fields" by X-perience,"Only Time" by Enya, "It's A Fine Day" by Opus One, "Return To Innocence" by Enigma, "Keep On Trying" by 2 Vibez and/or "World of Magic" by Pharao. This Merlin soundtrack is best for those who enjoy the Merlin television series and/or those who are open to listening to classical music.

"Soft Machine" by the Teddy Bears captures songs that epitomize a combination of pop and chillout. "Yours To Keep", "PunkRocker", "Ahead of My Time" and "Automatic Lover" are among some of the great tunes on this cd. I admit that I found out about this group through Pandora Radio and only wish that more songs were included. "Soft Machine" by the Teddy Bears is great for those who enjoy electronica music.

Simply Good, August 13, 2012
"Simply Red 25" by Simply Red contains a medley of songs that span the overall course of their musical evolution through the 80's and 2000's. Many people recognize Simply Red by the well- known songs of "Holding Back The Years" and "If You Don't Know Me By Now". "Sunrise", "Stars", "It's Only Love", "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "Fairground" are also among some of the fun songs on this cd. My two personal favorites on this cd are a tie between "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "Fairground". "Simply Red 25" by Simply Red is best for those who enjoy musical blends of jazz and pop.

Ministry Of Sound Experimentation, August 4, 2012
"Ministry Of Sound: Anthems Indie" is a strong showing of 60 various indie rock songs on three cds. The following listing is a tiny sampler of the hits on these three cds: "Lust For Life" by Iggy Pop "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode "Your Woman" by White Town "Song 2" by Blur "Live Forever" by Oasis "Bohemian Like You" by The Dandy Warhols "Yellow" by Coldplay "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz "Angel" by Massive Attack "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand "Feel Good Inc" by Gorillaz "Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds To Mars "Ministry of Sounds: Anthems Indie" is best for those who enjoy indie rock, alternative rock, and/or like most of the above mentioned songs. I rated it four stars only because I wish that there were more songs on this compilation such as "Sleeping Satellites" by Tasmin Archer, "Beds Are Burning" by Midnight Oil, "Caught A Lite Sneeze" by Tori Amos, "Possum Kingdom" by The Toadies and/or "All I Want" by Toad the Wet Sprocket.

Heavenly Dream, August 4, 2012
"Come Into My Dream" by Foggy first came into my awareness when I first heard it on the Yahoo dance radio station back in 2005. "Come Into My Dream" also plays on my personalized settings of Pandora Radio. I enjoy the Pulsedriver Radio Cut version of "Come Into My Dream" because it is longer than the other available versions and contains an uplifting chorus inferring the benevolent influence of celestial angels. This song toys with the happy concept of living in a utopian world and/or a joyful life. "Come Into My Dream" is best for those who enjoy imaginative and cheerful tunes from the early 2000s.

Shinedown On A More Serious Side, August 4, 2012
Less than a few months ago, members of Shinedown were interviewed on the Fuse music channel. My initial impression of Brent Smith and the rest of the members were of men who genuinely appreciate all of their fans. However, I was still initially uncertain about getting the album because of my neutral feelings about the song "Bully". I admit that I was more accustomed to the hopeful messages in songs such as "Second Chance" and "If You Only Knew". "Second Chance" was also one of the songs that helped me cope with my summer 2009 transition from the military to eventual civilian life. Their recent decision to hold a one day 99 cent sale on their mp3 album persuaded me to purchase their album. Amaryllis is definitely a bargain for the 99 cent sale that was temporarily offered. My reason for this sentiment is due to my enjoyment of the following high-energy and motivational tracks: "Adrenaline","Miracle", "Unity", and "Amaryllis". Please understand that I am aware why many millions of others may enjoy "Bully" and/or rank this collection higher. The only reason why I ranked "Amaryllis" three stars was due to my feeling that there could have been more upbeat songs in this compilation to balance out the more somber musical tracks. This is because I felt some powerful energy from their happier tracks that helped to add strength to the whole compilation. "Amaryllis" does grow on the listener after each successive listen of the whole album. This album is definitely worth it if purchased as an MP3 album for less than five U.S. dollars or as a CD that is nine dollars or less. For this reason, "Amaryllis" is more for the listening audience that enjoys hearing "Bully" and/or those who are fine with a musical creation that has more tragic songs than upbeat tunes.

Shadow Face, August 4, 2012
"Honest Face" by Liam Finn and Eliza Jane sounded like an honest attempt to portray the shadowy side of human behavior. However, the instruments had so much of a screechy sound and the song was just too depressing (about a person who is scandalous but has an attractive and innocent face). I accidently got stuck with this song when I was attempting to download the amazon mp3 feature for another musical track. "Honest Face" is more for those who can look past the screeching sounds and listen to an indie rock anthem for womanizers and maneaters.

Happiness After War, August 1, 2012
I felt compelled to eventually get this cd after viewing the "Love After War" music video on youtube and seeing Paul Patton positively gush about her husband and his music on facebook. Paula Patton's opinion influenced me because I enjoyed the acting performances of both her and Tom Cruise in the most recent Mission Impossible film. Additionally, I previously listened to and liked the following Robin Thicke songs: "Wanna Love You Girl", "Lost Without U", and "Magic". "Love After War" is a slight musical departure from those songs. However, "An Angel On Each Arm","Never Give Up", "Pretty Lil Heart", "Lovely Lady", "Full-Time Believer", and "I Don't Know What It Feels To Be U" help to create a smooth love soundtrack cd. The only reason why I give this four stars is due to the fact that I only wish that at least one or two "Magic" and/or "Lost Without U" inspired tracks would have made it on this cd. "Love After War" by Robin Thicke is best for those who listen to R&B with a slight hint of pop.

All Kinds Of Miranda Lambert, August 1, 2012
Please understand that I feel that Miranda Lambert has a great singing voice, despite the three star rating. "Safe" is one of the songs that emphasizes her musical talent in a good way. "All Kinds Of Kinds", "Oklahoma Sky", "Mama's Broken Heart",and "Better In The Long Run" highlight her strength in emotional and relatable music. The main reason for the three star rating is due to the feeling that I only wish that she would have put more fast tempo songs on the cd (similar to "Fastest Girl In Town"). I admit to saying this from a perspective of preferring neo-country, country pop, and country rock music from the 80's,90's, and the 2000's. In fairness to the artist, she sang some of the older country style songs such as "Easy Living" and "Same Old You" with strong conviction. For this reason, "Four the Record"(Deluxe Edition) by Miranda Lambert is more for those who prefer a combination of outlaw style country with modern country (due to more of the country songs on this cd inspired by the pre 80's era).

"Adventure Time: The Complete First Season" is a dvd filled with 26 episodes that are colorful. The extra features include Pendleton Ward taking viewers on a laughter tinged tour around the office of his fellow "Adventure Time" staff. There is also a music bonus that features two men by the name of Casey and Tim explaining how they create the musical soundtrack. "The Witches Garden", "The Duke", "Freak City","Henchman", "Rainy Day Daydream", and "His Hero" were among some of my favorite episodes from the first season. Buying A Home 101, August 1, 2012
"The Essential Handbook For Buying A Home" by Karen Rittenhouse is a strong introductory book on the ins and outs of buying a house for the first time. This book is important to me because my husband and I intend to own a house in the D.C. area by February 2015. Additionally, we both plan to purchase wisely because of our shared agreement that this would be a home to live in for the rest of our current lifetimes. The following are some of the informative details in this guide: Pages 11-13: Buying A Home with a Lease Option Pages 71-75: Advantages of buying a Real Estate Owned by the lender (REO) property. Pages 95-96 and the end of the book: website links to online resources for homes. "The Essential Handbook For Buying a Home" by Karen Rittenhouse is more for those that plan on purchasing their first home, but she does state that it can also be for real estate investors.

Cinema of Musical Joy, July 28, 2012
With awareness of other interpretations, "Cinema" (Skrillex Remix) by Benny Benassi appears to be a heartwarming song about seeing the beauty and brilliance in that special man or woman (depending on the relationship). "Cinema" makes me think of the statement when another person may gush on how someone is a "diamond in the rough." "Cinema" is best for those who enjoy positive love songs with an electronic/dance edge.

Starting Anew, July 25, 2012
"Living Things" by Linkin Park contains music that creatively embodies emotional vulnerability and resilience. It is completely different from any of their other albums, but this change really fits with the "Living Things" title of the cd. For example, "Castle Of Glass" brilliantly touches on how tragically it is human nature for many to judge others from the metaphor of "glass houses". "Lost In The Echo","Victimized", "Roads Untraveled", "Skin To Bone" and "Tinfoil" are some of the compelling songs that touch a chord on the transformation that challenges can bring. "Living Things" by Linkin Park is a good selection for those who like electronica and rock and/or at least two Linkin Park albums.

2012 Kylie Reloaded, July 25, 2012
Back in 2002, I was stationed in Japan and heard "Can't Get You Out of My Head" multiple times and recall also hearing her on the radio while visiting family in the states. My husband also introduced me to her by sharing "Body Language" and "Fever" cds with me during the week of our 2004 wedding. Needless to say, her music grew on me and I have positive memories of her music. Over the years, I purchased her "Ultimate Kylie" collection in 2005, "X" during the winter of 2007, and "Aphrodite" during July 2010. Fortunately, I got the chance to see her at a 2011 concert and to me she makes the songs sound even better live. With that said, I rated it four stars only because this cd has some of the following hits that are on the cds that I just mentioned: "In Your Eyes", "Better the Devil You Know","All the Lovers", "Red-blooded Woman" and "Confide In Me". This makes it a collection that is best for those who are completely new to her music and those who only own her "X" or "Aphrodite" cds.

Pitbull Party, July 25, 2012
I first heard of Pitbull back in 2004 when I was in the military and stationed in North Island, California. "Culo" was one of the first tracks that I heard from him because it received heavy airplay on the radio. I was then re-introduced to him in 2009 when I was living in Orlando, Florida and frequently heard "I Know You Want Me" (Calle Ocho) on the radio. I had to give this cd a chance because I bought and enjoyed his "Planet Pit" compilation. "Shake","The Anthem","Midnight","Bojangles Remix" and "Toma" are some of the fun hits that feature on this cd. I only gave it four out of five stars because of my personal opinion that there some tracks from "Rebelution" and "Planet Pit" that could have made it on this compilation. For instance, music tracks such as "I Know You Want Me","Hotel Room Service","Give Me Everything", "Rain Over Me","Hey Baby" and "International Love" would have all made good additions for the "Original Hits" compilation. Aside from this caveat, "Original Hits" by Pitbull is great for those who like festive and up-tempo dance music.

Chris Brown's Musical Fortune, July 25, 2012
I must begin this review by prefacing that I do like Rihanna's music and count "We Found Love", "Talk That Talk", "Drunk On Love",and "Roc Me Out" among some of my favorite songs from her "Talk That Talk" cd. Additionally, I do not condone domestic violence regardless of who starts the fight first. With that said, I admit listening to "Fortune" with the belief that many people deserve second chances. Too many everyday people and celebrities frequently give up in life after making mistakes and thinking that their lives are now over. In fact, it is often the opposite and a mistake is only a stepping stone to greater opportunities and pulling oneself back up. Musical elements of dance, hip hop, and pop are crafted on this cd with party tracks such as "Bassline", "Party Hard", "Free Run" and "Turn Up the Music". "Fortune" by Chris Brown is best for those who have heard and liked Chris Brown's "Beautiful People" and/or hip hop and dance music hybrids. This is mainly because many of the songs on "Fortune" are fashioned from the related theme of "Beautiful People."

Country In The Sun, July 21, 2012
I must first start off by saying that "Now That's What I Call Country 5" does contain some quality hits. "God Gave Me You" by Blake Shelton ,"Sparks Fly" by Taylor Swift, "You Gonna Fly" by Keith Urban, and "Old Alabama" by Brad Paisley are some of the strong selections of this cd. The reason why I rate this four stars instead of five is more due to my personal opinion on some of the additional songs that could have made it to the cd: such as "Feel Like A Rockstar" by Kenney Chesney and Tim McGraw, "My Kinda Party" by Jason Aldean, and "Halo" by Tim McGraw. Additionally, Miranda Lambert has strong vocals in "Baggage Claim but I feel that either "Safe" or "Run Daddy Run" would have also showcased her abilities even further. Aside from these caveats, "Now Country 5" is best for those who have listened to at least four of the songs on this album and have liked them.

My two personal favorites from this compilation are "Miracles" and "Together". At the time of this writing, I have not yet seen the "Miracles" video but intend to do so. However, I have seen the "Together" video and feel that it fits perfectly with the song. "West End Girls","It's A Sin", "What Have I Done to Deserve This", "Always On My Mind", "Heart", "Se A Vida E (That's The Way Life Is)" and "Love Etc" are some of the catchy musical tracks on this cd. Humorous and Original, July 21, 2012
"Hoodwinked" is a comical computer animated movie that highlights the theme that things are not always as they appear. Red Puckett (a lighthearted pun on Little Red Riding Hood) embarks on a mission to help Granny Puckett stay in business. Granny Puckett is popular for selling some of the most delicious baked goods in their community. Red Puckett is trying to figure out who is masterminding the demise of other bakeries in the area. Her character ends up unexpectedly meeting Wolf and his zany squirrel assistant. Of course, there are more colorful characters in Hoodwinked. "Hoodwinked" is a worthwhile film choice for those who enjoy upbeat and action filled family-friendly adventures.

"I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" by Aretha Franklin and George Michael is a heartfelt love song that appears to be about enduring love. They both employ careful timing of their vocals. For example, Aretha Franklin opens the song with her backstory relating to her personal journey. Then, George Michael smoothly transitions into the third chorus on how he has maintained his faith. "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" by Aretha Franklin and George Michael is good for those who enjoy love songs and duets.

Blissful Classics In The Universe, May 23, 2012
"The Most Uplifting Classics In the Universe" is a two cd set that contains great classical background music. The songs can be played for "all-purpose situations" such as reading a book and/or relaxation music for meditation. "Water Music III" by Handel, "Allegro From Symphony No. 5"by Beethoven, "Allegro From Symphony No. 39" by Mozart, and "All Hornpipe From Water Music" by Handel are some of the songs that are soothing to the soul. "The Most Uplifting Classics In the Universe" collection is great for those who are looking for a classical music compilation made up of happy melodies.

Creating A Blissful Life, May 15, 2012
"Creating Your Best Life" by Caroline Miller is a heartfelt book that is akin to having a portable mentor. This is because "Creating Your Best Life" contains some novel ideas on combining personal dreams with practicality. I have been fortunate in being able to live on my own since the age of 19. However, I admit that I have learned various lessons through a combination of trial and error, logic, and intuition. From my humble perspective, "Creating Your Life" includes information that I am thankful to be aware of now, but that I only wish I knew much sooner. The following is a microcosmic sampler of what is discussed from an expansive range of helpful data: Pages eight to twenty-seven: Michael Phelps and Lou Holtz are two men that are listed as case studies on how they achieve their goals. Miller and Frisch also share tips on building efficacy. Pages thirty-six to eighty-five: The mood-boosting effects of "Best Self" journaling are discussed. In a happy way, the "Best Self" exercise reminds me of the "Journal of the Future" exercise listed in "The Vision Board" by Joyce Schwarz. There is a feature story regarding what inspired the singer of the Plain White T's to sing "Hey There Delilah." "Goal scrapbooks", "Happiness Houses", and willpower boosters are only a few of the exciting concepts covered in this section. Pages two hundred and seven to two-hundred and fifty-four: Miller and Frisch share their advice on how to savor life. The suggestion on page 208 to discontinue making upward social comparisons resonated strongly with me. Techniques on personal reinvention on pages 213-220 are also exciting to me. Last, but not least, doing the "Three Blessings" exercise on page 254 boosted my mood. "Creating Your Best Life" by Caroline Adams Miller and Dr. Michael Frisch is best for those who enjoy having a "portable mentor" and/or reading unique ideas on increasing personal quality of life.

Tresspassing Across Different Music Styles With Brilliant Results, May 15, 2012
"Trespassing" (Deluxe Edition) by Adam Lambert is a great mix of eclectic songs by an intense and original singer. Many of the songs are tinged with hints of pop, dance, electronica, and rock. The diverse musical genres help to create a strong music collection that appeals to music listeners of various backgrounds. I completely understand that each Adam Lambert fan may differ in the songs that are their personal preference. However, I admit that the following are already some of my favorites: Pop That Lock Naked Love Chokehold Broken English Nirvana Underneath "Trespassing" (Deluxe Edition) is a worthwhile purchase for those who enjoyed any of Adam Lambert's previous musical efforts and/or music lovers who are open to blended music genres in one song (such as electronica and pop, dance and pop, chillout and pop etc.).

Superhero Full House, May 5, 2012
My husband and I agreed to watch "The Avengers" due to previous good experiences with watching both "Ironman" films, "Captain America" from last year, and "Thor". In my opinion, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans all gave strong and convincing performances in their roles as Ironman, Captain America, and Thor. It was also entertaining watching Scarlet Johansson's Natasha Romanoff character holding her own when confronting Mark Ruffalo's Dr. Bruce character. My husband's favorite character was that of Loki played by Tom Hiddleston. I can understand this because Hiddleston plays a powerful and complex being who proves to be a strong challenge for Thor. For me, it is a tie between Downey's Ironman character and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury persona. Downey plays the role of being the braintrust in deciding how to defeat Loki. Meanwhile, Jackson projects strong leadership and encouraging skills when gathering the appropriate forces to battle Loki. "The Avengers" is best for anyone who has enjoyed any of the previous films: "Captain America", "Thor," and either of the "Ironman" films.

Quality Songs From Eagle, May 5, 2012
"The Very Best Of" by The Eagles is a well-assembled two cd set of daring classic rock songs. The following is an excellent sampler of their musical hits: "Hotel California" "Take It Easy" "Take It To The Limit" "One Of These Nights" "I Can't Tell You Why" "Witchy Woman" "Get Over It" "The Best Of My Love" "Life In The Fast Lane" "The Long Run" "Love Will Keep Us Alive" There are many more classics in this collection, and I would have to say that "Get Over It" was one of my favorites. I am aware that the band may have a different meaning for "Get Over It." It is just that I like "Get Over It" because it serves as a musical reminder for me to turn obstacles into learning opportunities when things may go differently from what I originally planned. "The Very Best Of" by The Eagles is great for those who like classic rock music and/or at least seven songs by The Eagles

Kat's Grafitti Pun, May 1, 2012
Put Your Grafitti On Me" on by Kat Graham appears to be a neatly and cleverly disguised seduction song. She does add a good touch to the song by singing "Tag Me" during decently timed moments. "Put Your Graffiti On Me" by Kat Graham is good for those who enjoy quirky dance/pop songs.
