Napoleon Hill’s Brief Financial Diary, June 28, 2016
The Law of Success kindlebook by Napoleon Hill covers the emphasis on savings and Napoleon Hill’s accounts on what motivated him to eventually save more money. Hill admits that many Montclair people thought that he was a millionaire because of the way he entertained lavishly at home. He also admitted that the dinners always cost him at least ten dollars a plate in addition to the music that he would spend for the dining. Napoleon Hill also admits to spending quite a bit on golf courses. He also admits to entertaining so money guests at one of the golf clubs one month paying for luncheons, cigars, what he lists as green fees that the bill ran him up 450 dollars a month. In the opportunities for saving section Hill lists men who had a chance to capitalize on professional opportunities because of their savings. However, the obvious caveat is that a person is going to have to turn to other books for money-making ideas (such as the book Hustle Away Debt; Eliminate Your Debt by Making More Money by David Carlson) especially because a person making 900-1100 dollars a month may have more of an obvious essential need to increase their savings percentage compared to a person making 2500 to 3000 dollars a more a month who has a greater option to apply more of a money percentage to their student loans than the amount put in savings. Reluctantly, I admit to speaking from experience because I have been on various ends of the income spectrum (I have experienced some months where I made 772 dollars a month after taxes before, 900-1100 dollars a month after taxes, and there have some months in my life where I fortunately made around at least 2-3 ground after taxes).I actually understand the why on why I must save more money and the importance especially since my husband and I do not get any form of foodstamps or government assistance-i.e. housing assistance, disability assistance etc. (please know that I’m not shaming people andor children who use these things I’m just emphasizing why I understand that I must prioritize saving money above repaying my student loans off early even with me being fortunate to not have a cosigner on my student loans). This is especially because it takes making at least 1250 to 1350 dollars a month after taxes to live on the basics for paying rent, food, and public transportation to get to work where I currently reside (without foodstamps or government assistance and just taking public transportation). Of course, I intend to be more diligent about saving as much money as possible in the new job I start around mid to late July.

Shenanigans While Competing To Be Top Employee, June 28, 2016
The Employee Of The Month movie stars Dane Cook as Super-Club employee Zack Bradley, Jessica Simpson as new employee Amy Renfro, and Dax Shepard as head cashier Vince Downey who takes his job a little to the extreme at times. For instance, the character is shown at times being less than cordial towards Super Club securityofficer Semi (Marcello Thedford). Downey is also extremely aggressive with even the one coworker Jorge Mecico (Efren Ramirez) who is an ally and supports him. Vince Downey’s dominant nature at first catches the attention of Amy Renfro until he lets the rivalry between him and Zack Bradley color how he acts around Amy Renfro. Things come to an even more heated event when Vince Downey finds out that Zack Bradley is also vying for employee of the month. Bradley also happens to have the support of coworkers Russell Gunders (Harland Williams), Lon Neilson (Andy Dick), and Iqbal Raji (Brian George). The two managers of Super-Club Dirk Dittman (Sean Whalen) and Glen Garry (Tim Bagley) seem to actually unknowingly encourage the rivalry between Bradley and Downey. Meanwhile the Dittman character is also extremely sensitive and insecure when it comes to his brother Glen Ross (Danny Woodburn). Wikipedia lists that the Employee of the Month film was actually shown inside a Costco store based out of New Mexico.

1940’s Era Women’s Baseball Re-enacted?, June 28, 2016
A League Of Their Own Movie is an all star cast featuring Madonna, Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Tom Hanks, Jon Lovitz,Rosie O’ Donnell, David Straitharn, Gary Marshall,Anne Ramsay, Megan Cavanagh, and more actors/actresses. A League of Their Own centers around the popularity of women’s big league baseball during WWII. Additionally, the film raised spotlight on what some of the players wanted versus what is expected of them. For instance, there is a scene where the character of Dorothy Hinson (Geena Davis) is conflicted about continuing with baseball or going back home with her husband Bob Hinson (Bill Pullman)when he returns from overseas. There is also a scene where the character of Mae Mordabito (Madonna)expresses concern about preferring to avoid having to go back to her previous occupation if the baseball team was cancelled before she is ready. Additionally, the character of Kit Keller (Lori Petty) is shown convincing her sister Dorothy Hinson (Geena Davis) to give them both a chance to let Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz) recruit them for baseball because they could always go back to their previous way of life compared to their chance in baseball having a limited time window opportunity. Last, but not least, Marla Hooch’s (Megan Cavanaugh) father Dave Hooch (Eddie Jones) is shown convincing Ernie Capadino to give his daughter a chance even if she does not typically look how Capadino would want a female baseball player to look like. This was because Dave Hooch was shown being concerned for this daughter’s professional opportunities in her own hometown if she did not have the chance to play baseball. Fortunately, I have known of this movie since I was a teenager because of the popularity of the song This Use To Be My Playground by Madonna (which also plays after the end of the movie when the credits come on).

Brilliant Music Mixes on This Now Cd, June 28, 2016
This Now That’s What I Call Music 5 cd has a mix of hits from various music genres of the early 2000’s; Give Me Just One Night Una Noche by 98 Degrees (Latin pop music genre?), Jumpin Jumpin by Destiny’s Child (dance pop), I Think I’m In Love With You by Jessica Simpson (pop/rock), I Wanna Be With You by Mandy Moore (ballad pop), Doesn’t Really Matter by Janet Jackson (dance pop), Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down and It’s My Life by Bon Jovi (rock) plus more great songs. There are so many good songs to choose from on Now 5 to where it is hard for me to pinpoint my favorites from Now 5. This is especially because I enjoy Jumpin Jumpin by Destiny’s Child for the club vibe, Doesn’t Really Matter by Janet Jackson for the happy tone, I Wanna Be With You by Mandy Moore because of the optimistic love song energy, Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down because of the high energy rock, and Give Me Just One Night by 98 Degrees because of the Latin music influence. As an American born woman who is part Puerto-Rican, I listen to an eclectic music mix and would actually be open to listening to more music from the Latin music genre but Latin music in English seems to be rare on local radio where I live and even the online radio stations I listen to (I enjoy multiple songs by Pitbull (Timber feat. Kesha, Calle Ocho, Drop It To The Floor feat. Tpain etc.) and the English version of Bailando by Enrique Iglesias feat. Sean Paul, Descemer Bueno, Gente De Zona).

I’m Glad This Hard Rock Mix Was Made Available on Amazon Prime Because, June 28, 2016
Somewhere In The Stratosphere by Shinedown contains a phenomenal mix of Shinedown songs in concert live version. Some of their multiple entertaining songs on Somewhere In The Stratosphere by Shinedown; If You Only Knew (Live From Washington State), 45 (Live From Washington State), Simple Man (Live From Washington State), Second Chance (Live Acoustic From Kansas City), The Crow and the Butterfly (Live From Kansas City), Times Like These (Live from Kansas City and a tribute to the Foo Fighters)and much more. Another good way to determine if you might enjoy this live rock mix is to listen to their songs The State of My Head and Asking For It from their most recent Threat to Survival compilation (because the music on Somewhere in The Stratosphere pushes the envelope musically in a similiar way as those two songs).

Sci-Fi Ballad?, June 28, 2016
This music track Sledgehammer by Rihanna (From The Motion Picture “Star Trek Beyond”) is a ballad that appears to be rising up through the trials and tribulations of life (guessing from both the movie Trailer for the most recent Star Trek Movie and the lyrics I’m using all my strength to get out of this hole). Rihanna’s emotive vocals help add to the theme of Sledgehammer.

Meaningful World Pop Song, June 28, 2016
This song Only When I Sleep by The Corrs is a harmony of soft rock and pop. The song appears to be about literally dreaming about someone who makes your heart pound even though they are just in your sleep and I’m guessing have never yet met before in person. The lyrics are creative and the superb vocals to the song create a song about what seems to be what is currently a person of mystery in the singer’s sleep (though I understand that this song could mean something else). Anyhow, I first heard Only When I Sleep by the Corrs on a music compilation that I bought in Phuket Thailand in my early 20’s. This song is also available on The Best of the Corrs compilation (which I admit to still owning after purchasing it via a music store the week of my 21st birthday inside which was then Westin Stamford Hotel built inside a mall in Singapore which is now listed online as the Swissotel the Stamford). At the time I was there it looked like a hybrid of an elegant hotel built inside what is now the Tyson’s Corner Center mall in Tyson’s Corner Virginia and the MacArthur Center mall in Norfolk Virginia.

Ahead Of It’s Time Club Music?, June 28, 2016
The Power of American Natives by Dance 2 Trance (Dag & Butcher mix) harmonizes house music with 90’s modern trance music. I also like that this track clocks at 6 minutes and 23 seconds because it gives a person time to enjoy the beats and tempo of this avant-garde club vibe type of song. I admit that this track also caught my attention because it is currently rare for me to come across contemporary Native American music and my curiosity from me being part Menominee Indian (inherited from my late biological mother and my late maternal grandmother) influenced me to listen to this tune.

Country Love Ballad?, June 28, 2016

My Mother In Law Bought For Me, June 28, 2016
Of course, I’m thankful that my mother-in-law purchased these Teva Men’s Omnium Sandals (in brown color size 11 m US by Teva). The shoes material provides ease for walking and the straps are built in a way to where they stay on effortlessly whether or not a person wears socks with them (though I prefer to wear socks with mine). The closed toe feature provides some protection against the weather elements and walking into a muddy area.

Quirky Yet Good, June 28, 2016
This Restaurant Island app is very easy to use and appears to obviously live up to its title by being a game that is set in a fictional world populated by various restaurants. Tacos, burgers, carrots, red peppers, cheesecake, lobster, currywurst, French toast, running sushi bar, steak & chips, chocolate cake, fish & chips, fruit salad, picnic basket, gyros place, the option of a high class restaurant etc. are some of the multiple options of the Restaurant Island game. There are also decoration options such as the painting, kids area, the award features etc.

Affordable And Easy To Make, June 28, 2016
This 11.2 ounce bag of Bear Creek Cheddar Broccoli Soup Mix at a Big Lots store inside a mall near the area where my husband and I currently reside (the Big Lots looks like a cousin of the Dollar Tree store but with the addition of more home furnishings). Anyhow, this Bear Creek Cheddar Broccoli Soup Mix is very easy to cook because you just add 8 cups of water, stir for ten minutes via the user friendly instructions on the back of the soup package and voila it’s eventually done. The additions of fresh or frozen broccoli as well as a meat (such as chicken) obviously enhance the soup even more.

If You Are Open to Listen to Live Concert Performances, June 21, 2016
The Party Is Right Here cd set by Madonna is 9 songs on each cd. What makes the cd set a worthwile purchase is that the compilation contains live fm radio versions from one of Madonna’s musical performances of her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour. Vogue, Causing A Commotion, Now I’m Following You, and Like A Prayer are some of the live performances on this double cd set. The cd sleeve enclosed with this set contains information on Madonna’s Blond Ambition tour and one of the photos from her concert performances. One of the positives that appeal to me about Madonna’s music is that she is her own person professionally speaking, which is a factor that I have noticed is important to people in various socio-economic classes (many people myself included, aim to be their own person career-wise regardless of any level of support andor resources they start from).

Collateral Outcomes?, June 21, 2016
Fortunately, I recently caught both episodes from Season 3 of the Last ship this past Sunday The Scott Effect and Rising Sun after seeing an ad for the Last Ship. The Scott Effect focuses on Commanding Officer Tom Chandler’s (Eric Dane) task ahead of him with trying to coordinate humanitarian efforts with Executive Officer Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and the rest of the crew. Their latest assignment takes them to Asia and the series touches on a delicate controversial issue on when and if the U.S. ought to get involved in humanitarian efforts around the world (even though the story is obviously fictional and hopefully stays fiction and not art imitating life). Things get heated when Tom Chandler asks the difficult questions of a powerful politician at one of their dinner meetings. Additionally, there is a scene where Mike Slattery’s character is uneasy about having to spend time at a nightclub. Of course, there are more actors and actresses involved in just the first two episodes of Last Ship Season 3 as well as dramatic plot points. However, I want to avoid saying more for out of courtesy for anyone who sees this review and wants to see Season 3 of the Last Ship.I have a dvd box set of the Last Ship Season one and definitely want to eventually obtain the dvd set of season 2 and season 3 after watching the first two episodes of Season 3. I understand that this show is different from what the U.S. Navy is like, but I find this show engaging to watch because of plots involving both suspense and action plots. Additionally, I miss the being in the U.S. Navy from time to time and watching Last Season satisfies my craving for adventure. I was in the navy from June 2000 and was honorably discharged May 2009. The main reason why I left was due to the fact that I was not yet psychologically ready to deal with the potential reality on what to do if I encounter a mother andor child fighting on the enemy side. I understand that I must push past/resolve that concern if I ever rejoined the military and my challenge in reconciling the way I see mothers from other cultures is influenced by the positive memory of my American born late adoptive mother (she was Caucasian)and my current living American born adoptive father (he is Mexican and Aztec Indian) taking me in despite my complicated childhood history and me coming from a completely different background (both racially and socio-economically).

A Touching Romantic Comedy Movie, June 21, 2016
The Confessions of A Shopaholic film stars Isla Fisher as shopping fanatic Rebecca Bloomwood, Krysten Ritter plays Bloomwood’s best friend Suze while John Goodman and Joan Cusack play Rebecca Bloomwood’s parents Graham and Jane Bloomwood. Rebecca Bloomwood initially vies to work for Alette Naylor’s (Kristin Scott Thomas) magazine but Alicia Billington (Leslie Bibb) ends up with the job. However, she finds out through one of the receptionists Allon (Stephen Guarino) that Successful Savings magazine is hiring. There is a reference to the Wizard of Oz movie during a discussion between the Allon character and the Rebecca Bloomwood character when Allon lets Bloomwood know about the Successful Savings job interview.Fortunately, things start to look up for Rebecca Bloomwood even more when she is hired by Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy) for a job at Successful Savings. Additionally, Rebecca Bloomwood helps boost the professional profile of her boss Luke Brandon after she writes an article and Luke Brandon ends up being praised by one of the bosses Edgar West (John Lithgow) at his job. There are more plot elements and actors/actresses involved in this movie yet I must avoid saying more for right now. However, this movie did inspire me to follow my dream of going back to school to get another degree in what I want to study regardless of what my critics say and even if I start over again at a community college. Additionally, I have not used a credit card since 2013 but the movie inspired me to be more diligent with building up my savings account in my new job that I start around mid to late July (as well as having me curious to check out the book). My husband has joked with me that I’m an advertiser’s dream and I understand that the joke is nothing for me to brag about. However, my husband has also unconditionally loved me through both challenging and good times and his love has actually inspired me to continue to aim higher professionally and personally. This reminds me of how watching the character of Hugh Dancy and how he sees the good in Rebecca Bloomwood when most people in real-life might only look for faults kind of reminded me of the rose colored glasses that I’m fortunate that my husband metaphorically wears with me and his loving treatment of me. Additionally, I liked the plot element of how the character of Hugh Dancy pushes Rebecca Bloomwood to be her best.

Unexpected Heroism, June 21, 2016
Arthur and The Invisibles is a film with an all-star cast that touches on the story of Arthur (Freddie Highmore) who ends up in another world when he goes out of his way to save the home that is owned by his grandmother Daisy (Mia Farrow) and his missing grandfather Archibald. Arthur manages to successfully convince Prince Betameche on why he must be allowed entrance into the world of the Minimoys. This movie of Arthur and the Invisibles has a star studded cast because of Madonna voicing Princess Selenia, Jimmy Fallon as Prince Betameche, the late David Bowie as Emperor Maltazard, Jason Bateman as Prince Darkos, Snoop Dogg, Robert Deniro, Emilio Estevez, Harvey Keitel, Chaz Palminteri, Erik Per Sullivan, Penny Balfour, Anthony Anderson, Doug Rand etc.

Mother-In-Law Purchased, June 21, 2016
I’m glad that my mother-in-law purchased a pack of 24 taco bell seasoning mix (1-ounce packs) because I was able to recently mix one of the packets to mix in the groundbeef and saved part of the groundbeef for tacos and another part for making taco flavored macaroni and cheese (both of which my husband liked). The taco bell seasoning mix packet does leave a savory taste that is comparable to what a person can get at tacobell.

Enhances Macaroni Creaminess, June 21, 2016
I admit that my first memories of me tasting this Velveeta loaf 16 ounce cheese product package was when I was a teenager helping to make dinner for my family. My late adoptive mother was just trying to help instill a sense of responsibility when she delegated to me the tasks of sometimes cooking for the family. She would often by this type of Velveeta cheese 16 ounce pack for the family and I would mix it with the velveeta shells. The texture to this product adds a layer of creaminess to the Velveeta shells andor is perfect for adding to other types of macaroni as well or plain macaroni noodles. The package I have is good until August 19, 2016.

Good Quality Brand of Macaroni & Cheese, June 21, 2016
I admit that I actually unintentionally first saw the brand of Cracker Barrel Macaroni & Cheese, 14 ounce offered at the Giant Food grocery store near where my husband and I currently live. I was also curious to buy it because I have purchased the Cracker Barrel sharp cheddar cheese brand before and there was a Cracker Barrel restaurant that my husband and I ate at before in Florida (around 2005/2006). Anyhow, this 14 ounce box of Cracker Barrel macaroni & cheese dinner (sharp cheddar flavor) with Cracker Barrel cheese sauce packet actually came out tasting good (the cheese sauce packet does taste close to sharp cheddar. I combined this Cracker Barrel macaroni and cheese with taco bell seasoning groundbeef which gave the dinner a taco/hamburger mac and cheese meal that my husband loved.

Classic and Unique 90’s Song, June 21, 2016
I first heard Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root around the time I was 13-15 years old via what was either local radio andor the VH1 channel. Send Me On My Way has both an earthy and upbeat vibe that is a combination of what sounds to be world, folk, and alternative rock music. I admit that I tried to look up the meaning of the song online but more or less got that it is a happy vibe type of song (from what I deduce on songfacts). Songfacts also lists that this song has been featured in such movies as Ice Age and Matilda as well as Chuck and New Girl tv shows.

Pushing The Envelope Musically, June 21, 2016
I confess that I’m going to have to look up the meaning of Dark Necessities by Red Hot Chili Peppers this week to figure out the meaning despite enjoying the song after recently hearing it on local radio and then also listening to it online. This version combines alternative rock with a slight bar lounge/jazz type of vibe with definite music experimentation on their part. A good way to determine if you might like this song is to listen to Higher Ground also by Red Hot Chili Peppers (due to Dark Necessities being a brilliant gem that channels the well done music experimentation of Higher Ground).

Ballad of Enduring Friendship Andor Other Types of Relationship, June 21, 2016

A Hopeful 90’s Love Song, June 21, 2016
It Takes Two by Tina Turner and Rod Stewart appears to be a 90’s lounge rock song that appears to metaphorically paint the immense power of what two people can do in all areas of life when they join forces together. This version of Wildest Dreams (R3hab Remix) by Taylor Swift combines both club and trance elements with the original pop/dance version. Controversial Yet Classic Song, June 21, 2016
During my high school years was when I remembering first hearing Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine both during local radio and television. The song was actually extremely popular by some of the people in my high school to the point that this song was actually played once before inside my high cafeteria during what was either my junior or senior year of high school. I admit that I was drawn in because of the guitars and the well timed singing of this song. However, I did not figure out the meaning of the song until after I lived here in the Washington D.C. area (through online sources). I actually understand why our military (and our allies)have to continue be supported both politically and financially as well as trained yet this song still catches my attention because some of the lyrics ended up being prophetic.

Song of Empowerment, June 21, 2016
I would say that my first exposure to It’s A Shame My Sister by Monie Love probably came from watching one of the House Party movies where the character of Play (Christopher Play Martin) is trying to learn to dance and is also being helped by his friend Kid (Christopher Kid Reid) to harness a more self confident nature. Anyhow this song It’s A Shame My Sister Monie Love appears to be an encouraging song where the singer is encouraging someone she knows to stand up for herself in her personal/love life. This is also a good song to listen to if you are open to listening to classic 90’s R&B melodies.
