Less than 8 hours ago, I decided to go ahead and see the Fifty Shades of Darker Film at the Regal Cinemas Gallery Place 14 movie theater.  My wait time was extremely brief as I was able to purchase one of the tickets through one of the purchasing ticket machines near the front entrance.  The person taking processing my ticket purchase was polite and I was able to catch the 5 p.m. showing in a reasonable timeframe even though I did not purchase the ticket until the time period between 5p.m. to 5:17 p.m.

Due to some of my personal goals, I have cut down on my intake of ice cream in the new year and aim to be careful how often and how much I consume compared to the past. However, for whatever reason I had an inkling to get their smallest size of ice cream available (the regular) less than 8 hours ago from this Haagen Dazs Shop near the Gallery Place Chinatown metro stop. The people interacting with me while I was making up my mind which of the two scoops to take were professional.  Rum raisin and some type of cookies and cream icecream were the two scoops I selected. The cashier even enrolled me in one of their rewards programs that is free for the customer. For whatever positive reason, I did choose to not finish the whole two scoops that I purchased due to the generous portion giving to me for the regular size filling me up quicker than expected (just two years ago I would have easily ate the whole two scoops).

My husband and I recently went to the National Postal Museum in Washington D.C. this past Friday. The security to check items on the way to entering was efficient. The following are some of the multiple exhibits and monuments inside of the National Postal Museum; photo of navy personnel aboard the USS Boxer awaiting their mail, a live model of the de Havilland Plane, an exhibit of the Stinson Reliant aircraft, an exhibit showing "secret" postcards, photo of Postmaster Mary Katherine Goddard, Creating Postal Routes Exhibit, Early Rail Routes, and much more.  Additionally, entrance to this museum is free and super close (within walking distance)to the Union metro station.

I actually had to come to this post office in Hyattsville, Maryland (listed under the Langley Park address on the USPS website) because of a package issue related to what I had ordered online from a seller. Fortunately, the employee at the counter helped me find the package in question in a timely and friendly manner. Additionally, I went on a Friday afternoon and my wait in line was pretty brief. This post office is also near an Aldi's Grocery store for anyone who might want to grocery shop after leaving the post office.

My husband and I agreed to take a chance on this AMC Wheaton Mall 9 theater in Wheaton Maryland less than 24 hours ago. Our movie of choice that we selected to see at this theater was Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (which turned out to be a brilliant movie). Anyhow, our wait to get the tickets for the film (which was a 4p.m. showing) was pretty brief as was our wait for getting a fountain drink and mozzarella sticks. Obviously, I can only speak for our visit yet the customer service was also up to par.

I feel lucky to admit that I decided to try this & Pizza near Chinatown less than three weeks ago after my mother in law treated me there for my birthday as she was also visiting (along with my brother in law and nieces). My mother in law, my husband, my brother in law and nieces all seemed to like their pizzas. I tried the Maverick pizza that comes with various meats-pepperoni, Italian sausage, tomato, mozzarella, pesto, parmesan. I actually had the same pizza when I came back less than two weeks later and fortunately it still tasted good and the customer service I got from the employees handling my order were also satisfactory. The appetizing drink combinations that they have at this location; burdock and Anise root beer, cherry bomb, ginger berry lemonade, pear & fig elixir. Additionally, I have previously had pizza from such places as the &Pizza location inside the Ronald Reagan National Airport (October 2016) and near the Columbia Heights metro (April 2016), which fortunately my personal experience at this Chinatown &Pizza location matched up with the Columbia Heights and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport experiences. I admit that it helped that my most recent experience pertained to me visiting on a Friday evening before a crowd of customers normally come (I came around 4:10 p.m. on my recent visit and even one of the employees politely explained that I came before the timeframe of their expected rush).

I admit that due to the price of the cupcakes and my personal goals, my husband and I only occasionally get cupcakes from the Red Velvet Cupcakery near the Chinatown metro(my husband had to actually remind me when he thought was our last visit to put it nicely). The most recent visit was because my husband bought some cupcakes for me here in honor of my birthday. The cupcakes are delicious but they can easily run a person at least $3.25 each. However, the customer service is up to par each time and the cupcakes are actually delicious. Some of the flavors I selected for my most recent visit; carrotcake, summertime (lemon cupcake with whipped cream cheese topping and shredded coconut), cookies n cream,

I utilized the Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) both this past Thursday October 27th  in order to fly to the Chicago O'Hare International Airport (flying to see one of my best friends and some family members in Illinois). Pros; help is easy to find if you are confirming a flight situation and there are plenty of places to get food and reading material. Additionally, one of the employees inside this Airport courteously helped me deal with a plane ticket situation that I was having this past Thursday. Additionally, the people who I had to speak with regarding my plane ticket departure were cheerful and helpful. The check-in time for me boarding my flight was seamless and I arrived in Illinois within a reasonable timeframe (even though I unintentionally caused myself  to end up on a later flight after an issue with a ticket that I purchased online (which was fortunately resolved at this airport).Caveat; the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is very strict about not allowing beauty products over a certain size in carry-ons. I understand that the employee was only doing their job yet I admit that I at first did not want to give up the Garnier Fructis leave on conditioner bottle (approximately 10.2 ounces)that my mother in law generously gave to me less than two months ago and a Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom approximately 8 oz bottle that I was finally using after a few weeks after I had originally had it in my apartment since the summer of 2015).

I chose to take the metro train to the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro Station both on my way to access the Ronald Reagan National Airport this past Thursday (October 27) and flying back to the Washington D.C. Area this past Sunday (October 30, 2016). The obvious pros; the metro stop is super close to the airport which makes it convenient if you utilize public transportation often. Additionally, the short distance from the airport cuts down on the amount of time if you have to go to baggage claim andor are just utilizing a carry on (carryons) and are eager to just get to the security line and to your flight. The setup to the metro also makes it easier if any family members andor loved ones want to meet up with you at the airport even if they also utilize public transportation (my husband was able to smoothly meet up with me inside of the airport when I flew back to the Washington D.C. area this past Sunday because of the close proximity of the metro). Additionally, the metro train that we needed at this station to get back to Hyattsville, Maryland was on time even for Sunday which made our wait time only brief (and which also made it easier for the carryon bags that my husband was helping me with).

Less than 18 hours ago, my husband decided to eat some food inside the Wheaton Mall food court before getting some groceries from Costco that was close by. I decided to eat at Subway inside the mall food court and had a 6 inch spicy Italian sandwich with onions, pickles, tomatoes, black olives, sweet onion sauce, red pepper topping, oregano, some salt on Italian cheese herbs bread. I had a Barq's rootbeer to drink with 2 of their cookies (chocolate chip and raspberry cheesecake flavored). The food came out tasting good and both the employee making my sandwich and the cashier were friendly.

I had some pizza from Wiseguy Pizza (near the Foggybottom metro/George Washington University in Washington D.C.) less than 36 hours ago. The pros; the employees were nice and easily accommodated my request to have the two pizza slices I requested to go (I had a slice with mushrooms which I think was the mushroom truffle and I saved the Backyard slice-comes with kalamata olives, green pepper, mozzarella etc. for my husband).  In addition to the good customer service, the pizza slices were reasonably priced.

I was at this CVS Pharmacy store ( near the  Foggy Bottom metro/George Washington University in Washington D.C.)less than 36 hours ago. The pros; there were some unique items that I hadn't previously seen inside of a CVS store before such as; a 10.2 ounce Garnier Fructis Curl Nourish Butter Cream (leave in treatment conditioner with coconut, jojoba, and macadamia oils), Garnier Whole Blends coconut oil and coconut butter leave in hair conditioner, a decent set of affordable earings, nutella cups to go, and some Quaker brand girl scout thin mint granola bars. One of the employees near the hair section came up to me in an enthusiastic manner to see if I needed any help. The self-checkout machine I used worked ok.

My husband and I stopped by College Park Diner in College Park Maryland just yesterday.  My husband chose the sweet tea with country fried steak eggs and enjoyed his meal. I selected a sprite drink with a large omelet that had various toppings such as cheddar cheese, bacon, eggs, various other toppings etc. with home fries, toast, and some jelly. My order came pretty quick (around 11 minutes) and still came out tasty and my husband's order came out shortly after. The meal was affordable as I only paid $25.55 after taxes for both of the meals of my husband and I.

I decided to try Paisano's Pizza in College Park, Maryland this week after receiving a flyer near the front door of the apartment that my husband and I live in. I admit that today was the second day this week that my husband and I ate from Paisano's.  This past Thursday (Feb. 23)was the first day as I ate one slice of their large Supreme pizza with fresh garlic as the extra topping, some garlic knots, and I left the rest of the pizza for my husband for when he got home from work (he works during the day and I work later in the evening). The delivery driver was polite and delivered my order in a quick timeframe for when I had ordered the pizza that early Thursday afternoon. I admit that I did not feel like cooking today and so my husband and I agreed to order from there again today. This time I got the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti for my husband and I ordered the personal sized white pizza with fresh garlic and green olives for the extra toppings (I still have two slices left over from that pizza in the refrigerator for tomorrow). The appetizers we got were the fried mushrooms and jalapeno poppers.  The delivery driver came pretty quickly for when we ordered the pizza today and was also friendly today.

This past Saturday was when my mother in law, my husband, and I all agreed to visit the United States Botanic Garden in Washington D.C.. This is a good place to visit if you enjoy looking at the various flowers and information on various items grown (they had exhibits of bananas, olives,  a rare and endangered section etc). They even post a guide close to the entrance to answer any questions related to the exhibits.

I would say it was this past Saturday when my mother in law, my husband, and I ate at Red Lobster in Silver Spring, Maryland for dinner. My mother in law received a gift certificate from two of her closest friends  to Red Lobster and she generously covered the meals for my husband and I as well.  My mother in law ordered the Lobster Lover's dream with carrots and butternut squash and an iced tea. My husband got an iced tea with the ultimate feast and asparagus. Meanwhile, I chose to have Parmesan Crusted Tilapia, Tomato Caprese, and Barqs Root Beer to drink. The waitress was friendly and I also enjoyed how the Caesar salad tasted (a good mix of lettuce, dressing, croutons, parmesan cheese etc.).

I would put this past Saturday as the time that my husband, my mother-in-law, and I all ate at Crepe Lena's in Union Station (as many know only steps away from the Union Station metro in Washington D.C.). Anyhow, all three of us shared pieces of the following three crepes; a sweet crepe that consisted of apples, cinnamon, ricotta cheese, a savory crepe that included beef salami, cilantro, onions, what looked like mozzarella cheese, and a pesto type of crepe that had pesto topping, chicken, what looked to be ricotta cheese. The people handling the order seemed friendly and both my mother in law and my husband seemed to like the crepes (as did I). Each of the food stations on the basement level that we were eating the crepes are numbered, and as one can tell from the pictures available on yelp, Lena Crepes is at station 23.

My mother in law came to visit my husband and I this past weekend and she treated us to a breakfast at Denny's this past Sunday (around late morning/early afternoon). The waitress was pretty quick with our food and both my mother in law and my husband seemed to like their meals. She even shared with me part of her Hearty Breakfast Skillet meal (has two eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers etc.). My husband and I decided to take a chance on eating at Texas De Brazil yesterday (Saturday February 11) as a way of us getting our Valentine's Day meal on a weekend day. I was a little familiar with this restaurant because my husband and I ate at a place similar to this in Orlando, Florida and this place reminded us of a similar restaurant in the area that also serves tasty food; Fogo De Chao. Both the service and food were good as was the food bar that is also offered to accompany the meats. We were served a range of meats such as some type of garlic flavored steak, parmesan pork, and sides that were a delicious tasting what looked to be friend plantains, and some type of Yorkshire pudding bread. The only caveat is that this restaurant  costs 60 dollars for two people even for lunch, but the taste of the food and what is offered makes it worth it. Additionally, my husband and I would go back to Texas De Brazil in the future but it would be an occasional trip only because of the cost and the generous portions that are offered for what you pay for (a woman with goals such as myself could only go occasionally yet I'm aware that there are probably people viewing this who could go everyday if they wanted to).

It had been a while since I made my last visit to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. before I came back for another visit this past Friday (I have a positive memory of my husband agreeing to come with me for my birthday back in November 2014).  This Museum has gotten better from my most recent visit with some of the sights that I had a chance to look at before heading to work on Friday. I plan on going back in the future as there was some exhibits that I intend to see within the next 1-3 months or less that I had to pass on this time as I reluctantly admit that I was pushing it close trying to see multiple displays before my work shift that day. Obviously, I would recommend striving to allow yourself at least 2.5 hours or more to visit the various exhibits available at this museum whether you are going on a day off from work or before some other scheduled situation. Some of the following multiple sights available at the National Air and Space Museum; Gallery 203 Sea-Air Operations section featuring a model of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, simulator rides display, Airport  Locator, Samuel P. Langley Gallery of Early Flight, How Things Fly Sponsored by Boehing exhibit, Planetarium Store, Einstein Planetarium Ticket Journey to the Stars, Wright Cycle Co. Display, Navigating At Sea exhibit, Artist Soldiers The Aef Art Program section in the Artist Soldiers Artistic Expressions in the First World War exhibit, Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall, and more.

    4/23/2017   Updated review
I emphasize that I am posting as an amateur writer joyfully sharing my experiences out and about in the Washington D.C. area. My most recent visit to this McDonald's inside of the National Air and Space Museum (the first floor) was this past Friday (April 21, 2017). The pros; I ordered a bacon club hamburger value meal to eat on the go before work. The food actually came out tasty despite the busy timeframe that I received my order (my receipt shows 1:07 p.m for that day). Additional pro; I reluctantly admit, even being aware of the judgment I may receive for doing so, that I have ate at multiple McDonald's around the Washington D.C. area since May 2010 when I first moved to Hyattsville Maryland. This McDonald's (in terms of the food and customer service) is among my personal top five in the Washington D.C. area.  The cashier taking my order was super friendly and my food was received less than 4-5 minutes after I paid for my value meal. The main caveat that I would diplomatically warn others reading this review about; I came at a super busy time full of many visitors at this museum so I should have known better. However, I started keeping track of my time waiting in line at 12:39 p.m. and I finally received my food by 1:07 p.m. This is due to the fact that there were multiple lines full of many people just for this McDonald's inside of the museum that was stretching all the way towards the front entrance areas of this McDonald's.  I also noticed that Boston Market food and Donato's Pizza options were also available. What am I trying to say; the main caveat for a visitor coming during an extremely busy time is to maybe allow an approximate 30 minute wait to get their food if they elect to eat at this McDonald's.

My husband and I last visited this mall in May 2016 and it was a pleasant experience visiting Tyson's Corner Center mall (near the Tyson's Corner metro in McLean Virginia )again this past Saturday (April 22nd). This is a huge multi-level mall that has enough escalators to make it easier to get around the mall. Some of the multiple businesses inside of this mall; the Disney store, AMC Theater, Barnes and Noble, An Amazon business kiosk, Art & Home Décor store, a Lego store, various restaurants such as Earl's Kitchen & Bar, Coastal Flats, Seasons 52, La Sandia, Gordon Biersch Brewery restaurant and a food court carrying various eateries such as California Tortilla, Five Guys, BGR the Burger Giant, Shakeshack, Brio Tuscan Grille, Starbucks, Victoria's Secret,Build-A-Bear Workshop, what looks to be a Hyatt Regency hotel close to the mall, Massage Express, Nordstrom, Sephora, Tyson's Market, Lady Foot Locker, Gap, Old Navy etc.

My husband and I fortunately were able to get a seat shortly after arriving in La Sandia Mexican Kitchen restaurant in Tyson's Corner Mall in Mclean Virginia this past Saturday (we finished our food and got a receipt by 1:37 p.m. for those wondering about the timeframe). My husband and I indulged in an appetizing dish of Queso Fundido which is sort of looked like a cheese fondue. My husband chose the Norteno Enchilada Festival themed meal which comes with lamb barbacoa, salsa borracha, pinto bean puree, cilantro, white onion, Serrano pepper, and epazote crema with Coke for a drink. I had the Veggie Chile Releno that comes stuffed with multiple cheeses and vegetables and Mr. Pibb soda as my drink of choice. Additionally and fortunately, my drink and croissant came out delectable and was paid for by my husband. She even shared with me how other Starbuck places in their district/region tried to get the ingredients for the Unicorn drinks to be available at their stories from their store. I have accessed the Prince George's Plaza metro in Hyattsville, Maryland since May 2010 when I first moved to Hyattsville, Maryland from Orlando, Florida (my husband followed me up here in June 2010).  My husband and I live closest to this metro and we have used it multiple times since the summer of 2010. Fortunately, using this metro station has gotten better since then. My most recent visits pertain to this week (this past Friday April 21st and Saturday April 22nd).  Yesterday, I used this metro on my way back from the National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. to ensure that I got on the free shuttle available that was enroute to both College Park, Maryland and Greenbelt, Maryland.  I liked that the shuttle buses were there right away when I headed off the metro, which made it easier for me to connect to the College Park, Maryland metro on my way to work (Prince George's Plaza metro was busy both times I was there this past Friday and Saturday as track work was being done in both the metro stops in Greenbelt, Maryland and College Park, Maryland). This metro is close to the Prince George's Plaza Mall, Target, Olive Garden, Outback Restaurant, a Regency movie theater, Staples, Bob's Furniture,A Giant's Grocery Store, Safeway, Home Depot, Carolina Kitchen, Dunkin Donuts, Five Guys, some military recruiting offices  etc. (for people wondering which businesses are closest to this metro).

Among some of the multiple sights available that my husband and I had a chance to see; First Ladies exhibit including the inauguration gowns of Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama and of course there are also the other inaugural gowns from other first ladies including a 1990's quote by the Washington Post pertaining to the inaugural gowns, Julia Child's exhibit including a kitchen pertaining to her life, supermarket exhibit within the Food section, Women in Uniform exhibit, Wizard of Oz exhibit inside the museum store, Innovations in the Vineyard, Innovations in the Wineyard, stories on Money exhibit, an display where a person can drop a penny and vote on whether or not the penny needs to be kept as U.S. currency, Women on American Money exhibit, American stories, and of course much more exhibits available. My husband pleasantly surprised me by getting me a Smithsonian ball cap and t-shirt from the museum store.

I mean only disrespect-free intent  with saying this; However, one of the caveats of this museum is that not every American Indian tribe is featured in the museum. I was curious to see if the Menominee Indian was featured inside this museum (my late maternal grandmother and my late biological mother had Menominee Indian ancestry) since the museum seems to pertain to different Native American tribes across the U.S. , but it was not yet listed at the museum from what I saw.

The latest trip to Costco inside the Wheaton mall (near the Wheaton metro in Wheaton Maryland) occurred less than 17 hours ago. My husband and I decided to get some groceries in bulk such as the following; a pack of hotdogs similar to what they sell in the Costco food court as listed on the package,  some El Montrey brand chicken and cheese taquitos, Premio brand sweet Italian sausage, Kirkland brand Italian sausage and beef lasagna, Meal Mart brand beef brisket, Mon Cuisine Natural Rib Eye. Both the cashier who scanned our groceries and the front entrance person who looked over our receipt were friendly. The overall total of what my husband and I got came out to 95 dollars and 52 cents for food supply amounts that are going to easily hold us over for at least 2-3 weeks.

My husband and I agreed to visit this Costco in Beltsville, Maryland (near College Park, Maryland) both to grocery shop and to see how it compares to the Wheaton Mall Costco we have been to multiple times. The pros; We came at a time that was not as crowded and some of the things that my husband and I were able to quickly get;  Delta Fresh brand cherries, Tang brand orange powder drink, Genova brand olive oil tuna, 2 jars of Creamy Jif peanut butter, Ice Tea, sliced mozzarella, organic blue berry jam, and some more items. My husband paid for the food and the overall total came out to 79 dollars and 81 cents. The employees we interacted with were friendly and I noticed that there food court was completely inside the store. However, the main caveat is that this Costco is not close to public transportation as the Wheaton Mall Costco. This was fine for my husband and I today as it was nice outside and we only bought enough to support us walking from the store and to College Park, Maryland (for him) and walking back to the apartment in Hyattsville, Maryland where we live in my case (for personal walking goals that I have anyhow). However, I felt it necessary to mention the public transportation situation for those reading this review and wondering how close the Beltsville Costco is to a metro station.

My husband and I went to this Beltsville Maryland WaWa location somewhat previously a little familiar with the WaWa brand. This was because he and I use to go to a WaWa's gas station store from time to time for food back around part of 2008 and part of 2009 for food when we were still living in Norfolk Virginia. There was a WaWa gas station that was located near both the apartment that he and I lived in as well which was also near the Norfolk Virginia Naval base. Today,by the time my husband and I arrived at this Beltsville WaWa gas station there were plenty of other people in the store also there for the food. My husband ordered his meatball classic sub sandwich using one of the self ordering screens available as I also utilized a self ordering screen to order a quesadilla. Both of us got our orders pretty quickly and I liked the time that the person preparing my quesadilla took in generously giving me more ingredients than I expected. He even sectioned the quesadilla for me because I originally planned on only eating part of the quesadilla today and saving the other part tomorrow. However, I ended up eating the whole thing today (their quesadillas are pretty big as I discovered today). Both of us liked our food and I admit that I indulged a little more than I expected to because I also got an Argo brand hibiscus sangria tea, a banana, a jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel, and a bon appétit brand cheese and berry Danish which I shared part of with my husband. We stopped by here also partially to avoid shopping at the nearby Beltsville Costco on an empty stomach. I just wish that there was a WaWa business closer to where my husband and I live.
