5.0 out of 5 stars Unique FemaleJanuary 7, 2012
This review is from: A Girl Like You (MP3 Music)
"A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins is a high-quality song that appears to be about meeting a woman who moves in different ways in life. Apparently, the musical track appears to be about being with someone that brings out both the best in their partner, including their adventurous side (metaphorically speaking). "A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins is best for those who enjoy alternative songs with an indie dance beat.

This review is from: Living History (Paperback)
"Living History" by Hillary Clinton is a captivating book that tells various events that powerfully played a part in Hillary Clinton's Life. Hillary Clinton opens her heart to reveal pivotal circumstances that played influential agents in her life. Among the following are some of the excerpts of circumstances that Hillary Clinton shared:
Page 23: Hillary shares how she was actually at a speech of Martin Luther King Jr. that was titled "Remaining Awake Through a Revolution."
Page 39: Hillary describes her first meeting with Dean Acheson.
Pages 60-61: Details are shared about an exciting trip that Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton took to England. This was also the country where Bill Clinton had asked her to marry him.
Pages 172-178: Vince Foster, a close friend of the Clintons, took his own life. Naturally, Vince Foster's death was painful for Hillary Clinton to bear. Hillary Clinton mentioned that she poured herself into her work to cope.
Pages 210-211: Multiple photos of Hillary Clinton's life milestones are shared. The photo that stood out the most for me was photo 42 (featuring the Clintons practicing their dances for the Inaugural Ball).
Pages 370-371: More photos are included, with one picture that featured her surprise forty-sixth birthday party.
Page 372: She mentions how Condoleeza Rice helped Chelsea Clinton to feel welcome at Stanford University.
Page 461: Hillary Clinton confesses to feeling concern about some of the members of Congress that bragged about never leaving the states.
Page 523: She shares her victory of U.S. Senator.
"Living History" by Hillary Clinton is a compelling book for the many who are interested in reading about some of the early influences that shaped Hillary Clinton throughout her life.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Level of ResponsibilitiesJanuary 7, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Condoleeza Rice eloquently tells her side of the story surrounding various policy-making decisions in the book "No Higher Honor". I am a former active duty navy veteran who plans on rejoining the military via a part-time component between the time period of December 2012-February 2013 (shaped by my intent to permanently live in the D.C. area). This influences me to feel a responsibility of learning what I can about politics the longer I reside here. Reading about some of the difficult decisions she faced going into the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts gave me further insight on what indirectly happens in all of the military branches (in terms of the aftermath regarding the military surges, manpower goals etc.).
The following are some of the vivid points made in her memoir:
Pages 1-12: Dr. Rice describes her first meeting with George W.Bush, and shares why she admires Dean Acheson. A heartwarming moment is illuminated during the discussion of encouragement from her father (John Wesley Rice Jr.). With joyful sentiment, she shares how John Wesley Rice Jr. inspired her achievements. Tragically, he passed away during the Christmas Eve of 2000 (before the beginning of her tenure as George W. Bush's national security advisor).
Page 61: Condoleeza Rice's first meeting with Vladimir Putin is mentioned. On page 85 she candidly tells her discovery that Osama Bin Laden had fought for the Soviet Anti-Resistance. Page 116-117 discloses the essential capture of Abu Zubaydah. It is listed that Abu Zubaydah was the mastermind behind the al Qaeda guide on holding the line against interrogation techniques. Page 118 features information on the capture of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Mr. Mohammed was said to have bragged about being Daniel Pearl's executioner. For those who might not have heard of the original story, Condoleeza Rice mentions that Daniel Pearl was a Stanford graduate and journalist who was kidnapped in Pakistan and killed in 2002. Dr. Rice also notes the emotional challenge of being chosen as the one who had to break the news to Mariane Pearl (Daniel Pearl's widow).
Page 181: Dr. Rice factually lists that many of Washington D.C. policymakers are former academics. She confesses that this made her feel at home because various colleagues came from Stanford University.
Page 186: Saddam Hussein was initially offered one billion dollars to exit Iraq.
Page 208 (Ouch!): Vice President Dick Cheney had invited some of his close buddies to a party that commemorated the freedom of Iraq. Scooter Libby and Paul Wolfowitz are a couple of the names that were invited. Apparently, Vice President Dick Cheney excluded both Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice from his list of people to invite for the gathering.
Powerful people sometimes experience social trials/tribulations too (page 235): Condoleeza Rice was supposed to have dinner with a congressman that she thought was her friend. Apparently, a few days before their scheduled dinner, the "friend" cancelled on her claiming that they must be impartial. I appreciate that she had the courage to open up about this period in her life. This is because she helped me to see that even the most influential and famous people are not immune to friendships turning out differently than expected.
"Fairytale Birthday (Page 294): Condoleeza Rice openly shares a happy moment around a surprise birthday party that was thrown in her honor (for her 50th birthday). The additional bonus to this was it had happened shortly after she became Secretary of State.
Pages 366-367: Colorful photos highlighting pivotal moments are featured. The picture that stood out the most to me was where she was on the exploratory committee in March 1999.
Pages 454: Condoleeza Rice recalls a heart-wrenching moment of attending a dedication that paid respects to four little girls killed at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in 1963. Condoleeza Rice mentions that one of the four little girls was her kindergarten classmate Denise McNair.
Debate of Female Roles (page 548): An incident is documented where Senator Barbara Boxer indirectly implied that Condoleeza Rice was unaware of the sacrifices of those lost in war because she had no children. Naturally, Dr. Rice had a strong case for the question being insulting when she wondered if this would have been asked of a male Secretary of State (in a similar setting).
Celebrity Crush (pages 702-703): Qaddafi is quoted to have asked why he had to wait on his "African princess." On page 703, there was mention of how Qaddafi showed Condoleeza Rice a video that featured photos of her with various world leaders (set to the music of "Black Flower In The White House").
Page 717: With respectful sentiment, Dr. Rice shares how it was a smooth process of turning over the Secretary of State to Hillary Clinton. She shares how they got along well then and still do now. Logically enough, Dr. Rice admits that one of the reasons for their connection stems back to her days as Stanford provost (when Chelsea Clinton came there as a freshman).
Many more informative details feature in this book. "No Higher Honor" by Condoleeza Rice is best for the open-minded who want to increase their political understanding on what can drive a high level policymaker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystic's Way of Creative WritingDecember 29, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"There's No Business Like Soul Business" by Derek Rydall is a spiritually illuminating book about connecting spirit with the art of writing. He gives various humorous anecdotes on awakening the inner artist (including what he does to inspire his creativity). I admit that my favorite part of the book is chapter eleven, which includes helpful data on how to refine personal plans. Fun examples are given on how to tailor the goals towards a script-like formula. "There's No Business Like Soul Business" is good for those who prefer to read about creative writing from a spiritual perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Power of Georgetown InfluenceDecember 24, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"The Georgetown Ladies Social Club" by C. David Heyman is an incredible book that explains some of the powerful women who have indirectly/directly shaped past political elections. The following are some excerpts of entertaining details featured in this interesting book:
Chapter Eight Page 161: Mary Meyer was allegedly one of President Kennedy's favorite mistresses. He included her in many of his political dealings because of his admiration for her beauty and intellect. To further add to the controversial scandal, there was talk that both the president and Mary were sometimes high on acid while being intimate with each other. Mary Meyer supposedly obtained her drugs from Timothy Leary. It is listed that Mr. Leary was a full-time faculty member of the psychology department at Harvard University.
Chapter Nine Page 182: Kay Graham looked to Averell Harriman and Alice Longworth as human models of aging gracefully. She chose to read more and abstain from drinking in order to emulate them.
Chapter Nine Page 199: President Nixon's decision to distance himself from the Georgetown crowd may have affected him politically. Washington hostess Anna Chennault was purported to be one of the few women that he opened up to on a friendship level. In addition, it was discussed that Kay Graham was instrumental in leaking the Watergate story.
Chapter Nine Pages 202-207: Kay Graham was purportedly a charming women who at one time simultaneously attracted the affections of Warren Buffett and Robert McNamara. The book lists how a close friend by the name of Polly Fritchey was aware of the love triangle, and was quoted as saying, "Kay adored Mr. Buffett but loved Bob McNamara."
Chapter Ten Pages 208-240: Sally Quinn's combination of attractiveness and charisma played a pivotal role in her success as a reporter for the "Party Section" of the Washington Post. I wish to refrain from judging, but Sally Quinn's popularity was not without controversy. The chapter discusses the reasons why her and Jackie Kennedy were distant from each other. In addition, Sally Quinn became known hosting New Year's parties that become one of the most sought after events in the D.C. area. It is listed why she had to explain that she was masterminding the events out of no other ulterior motive but to have fun.
Chapter Twelve pages 269-320: Compelling information is included on a past marriage between late Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor and Republican politician John Warner. The chapter discusses how Elizabeth Taylor wanted so much to fit in with the Georgetown crowd. On page 287, Pamela Harriman indirectly implied the expectations that she had of Elizabeth Taylor. I was incredibly shocked to read that wealthy women such as Georgette Mosbacher and Arianna Huffington were also trying their best to fit in with the members of the Georgetown elite. Before this chapter, I really thought that women of high wealth had an easy pass into the prestigious ranks of "The Georgetown Ladies Social Club." On the other hand, I do have to admit that this chapter enlightened me on why I must take certain social games less personally. There are actual pictures of these women included between the pages of 246-247.
Chapter Fourteen page 335: Kay Graham was mentioned as saying that Pamela Harriman helped get Bill Clinton elected. In addition, Bill Clinton expressed his appreciation by selecting Pamela Harriman as United States ambassador to France on January 20, 1993.
There is so much more stimulating information in "The Georgetown Ladies Social Club." Thanks to the author, I also now know about books by Katherine Graham and Sally Quinn. The books that he listed were: Washington by Katherine Graham, The Party by Sally Quinn, and Washington by Meg Whitfield. "The Georgetown Ladies Social Club" is a fascinating book that best appeals to anyone who is curious to learn various "juicy" details on Georgetown and/or Washington D.C. history written in a vibrant manner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mission ExcitableDecember 24, 2011
"Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" is a film that carefully blends non-stop action with riveting plot schemes. Tom Cruise brilliantly portrays a fighter named Ethan Hunt. Ethan has the adversarial task of battling criminal elements while adhering to discretion. Paula Patton gives a strong performance as the headstrong and astute assistant Jane Carter. A desire for vengeance drives Jane to help Ethan. There was natural rapport between the interactions of Tom Cruise and Paula Patton. Please understand that I also felt that Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg powerfully portrayed their roles as Ethan's right hand men very well. It is just that something in the intense performances of Tom Cruise and Paula Patton compel me to check them both out in their future movies. "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" is best for anyone that enjoys movies by any of the above mentioned actors and/or high-energy action films.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Melody About Lasting LoveDecember 24, 2011
"Better Than I Know Myself" by Adam Lambert appears to be a touching song that pays tribute to an enduring relationship. The positive message of "Better Than I Know Myself" expresses an intent of staying with someone who expresses love through good and challenging times. I was lucky enough to get this great song for free due to pre-ordering the album from Adam Lambert's website. "Better Than I Know Myself" is best for the many who enjoy any songs from the "For Your Entertainment" collection and/or romantic music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Positive EnergyDecember 19, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"The Good Energy Book" by Tess Whitehurst includes soothing information on increasing the essence of positive and loving energy in life. The following details really resonate with me:
Chapter Three (Enlisting Help): Pages thirty-one to fifty-two discuss the beneficial effects of calling on the divine for an increase of good energy. The information on the spiritual archetypes of Archangel Michael, Saint Germain, and Merlin struck an emotional note with me.
Chapter Ten (Good Habits and Spiritual Maintenance): Pages one seventy-one to one eighty-six disclose details that I only wish existed in my awareness three years ago. Helpful details are mentioned on what can be done to indirectly raise receptivity to healing energy (my personal favorites: spending time in nature and journaling).
"The Good Energy Book" by Tess Whitehurst is ideal for those who like the "Magical Housekeeping" guide and/or ideas on attracting more happy energy.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Bold Tune About Female Beauty"December 19, 2011
This review is from: Bang Bang (MP3 Music)
"Bang Bang" by 3Oh!3 is a high-energetic song about a woman who has great beauty. "Bang Bang" also appears to be about meeting someone who acts as a change agent in the singer's life. He references her sense of adventure by playfully joking (via song): "put your hands in the air, she is going to shoot." This song is good for those who want to hear a sampling of 3Oh!3's recent music effort and/or anyone curious about hearing a clever pop/electronica hybrid tune.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thriving On LoveDecember 19, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"Living On Love" by Klaus Joehle is a sentimental book about merging the essence of love with the universal spirit. There is mention on why the subconscious is key in living with the essence of love. The following are a few of the tidbits that give healing insight on this universal concept:
Page 137: The role of imagination when it comes to the love principle.
Page 146: Why it is common for someone to radiate the essence of love when they fall in love.
Pages 210-228: How to radiate the essence of love in daily life.
The only reason why I rated this four stars (versus five) was due mainly to the fact that full disclosure on the" how-to" was kept undisclosed for the first half of "Living on Love." Information was at least generously shared on using imagination to send love to multiple situations. However, I was also hoping for details on why some effortlessly manifest a greater abundance of the love essence at an earlier age. What I do like was that the author at least confesses that it is essential to give up to two years for changes to happen when using love (page xxi). I concur with his confession, and feel intuitively guided to keep this book as a reference and personally allow myself three years. He also persuaded me on why the essence of love is essential for thriving. "Living On Love" is a heartfelt reference for many who are open to hear a man's account of increasing his receptivity to love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game of SuspenseDecember 17, 2011
"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" is an exciting movie to the 2009 sequel that stars Robert Downey Jr. (as Sherlock Holmes) and Jude Law (playing Dr. John Watson). I love this film because it has an abundance of action and adventure throughout multiple scenes. In this film version, Sherlock Holmes has met his intellectual match when he has to do battle with Professor Moriarty (played by Jared Harris). Fortunately, Sherlock Holmes receives help from his brother Mycroft (played by Stephen Fry) and Sim (played by Noomi Rapace). I originally decided to see this because of Robert Downey Jr's impeccable talent as Sherlock Holmes from the first film and in this one. However, Jude Law did a terrific job in once again playing the assistant who literally comes to the rescue of Holmes multiple times. Stephen Fry also did a good job of being the brother who provides further details into the various schemes of Professor Moriarty. Noomi Race played a feisty fortune teller who is determined to also help Holmes because this would bring her closer to her own brother. "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" is recommended for those who liked the first film and/or anyone who loves dramatic films.

3.0 out of 5 stars Happiness AnalysisDecember 17, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"Happiness": Unlocking the Mysteries of Psychological Wealth" by Ed Diener and Robert Biswas-Diener contain some detailed evidence of how happiness indirectly affects quality of life. I found out about this title through a amazon book search on happiness, and the previous reviews also compelled me to buy it. It was challenging for me to rate this only three stars because it was evident in this book that an abundance of research went into their scientific findings. This was because there are informative details that stood out for me in this guide such as:
Page 43: The giving of support is more beneficial than receiving support.
Page 97: People who obtained windfalls experience more happiness over longer periods of time.
Chapter seven on religion, spirituality, and happiness: There are extensive details covered on why those with religious beliefs may vary in happiness levels.
Chapter nine on the happiness set point: Helpful data is written on the happiness threshold, and what can be done to improve it.
Measuring Psychological Wealth in Chapter fourteen: I enjoyed the fun quizzes that were listed in regards to measuring my psychological wealth. I admit that I wish to not disclose my results on a public forum. However, I did find these quizzes helpful, and am more aware where I must make improvements.
The following are the areas where I respectfully disagree with the authors:
Chapter 4: Happiness and Social Relationships - Please understand that I acknowledge that friends can be beneficial in life. I can see why the authors imply that social relationships and happiness cannot be separate from each other. Strong scientific details were included to back up their implied message. However, I know from personal experience that happiness can exist without a large social network if there is an abundance of prosperity and a sturdy spiritual foundation.
Chapter 13: Living Happily Ever After: I agree with the compelling information given on why its essential to have direction and goals. Their excerpt on intelligent forecasting and wise choices is also enlightening, but I respectfully disagree about the material sufficiency analysis. Both men at least acknowledge that being able to be at least in the middle class is important, but they state that material sufficiency is unnecessary for happiness (on page 226). I respectfully disagree with this because they also list in the book how social status is important on page 106 (which I concur with). In addition, I have personally been on various stages of the socio-economic scale (after leaving the military), and seen firsthand how some people will decline your friendship if not on their level financial wise. Fortunately, I have become more prosperous since then, but I'm still acutely aware of the social status epidemic. I say this because it is common knowledge that you are defined by what you do when living in the Washington D.C. area.
With all this said, I can understand that there are some that may agree with me, and others that won't. I would still recommend this as a good book to read, but more for those who want a psychological analysis on happiness, as compared to a how-to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartfelt Folk RockDecember 12, 2011
This review is from: Sigh No More (MP3 Music)
"Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons contains musical tracks that blend elements of indie rock and folk. I was intrigued to obtain this collection because of the musical tracks and videos of "The Cave" and "Little Lion Man." I have frequently heard both of them on the radio and at first was very neutral about "Little Lion Man". However, "Little Lion Man" eventually grew on me the more that I heard it. This collection contains songs that are soul stirring, and these are among some of the ones that resonated with me:
"I Gave You ALL": A great song about how the singer poured out his heart with intensity.
"Awake My Soul": This seems to be about being exposed to situations that ignite the spirit, and increase the fire in a soul.
"Winterwinds": "Winterwinds" appears to be a message about what happens when following the heart.
"Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons is great to get for the many who like to listen to folk rock and/or indie rock music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling Concert Performance of Lady GagaDecember 6, 2011
"The Monster Ball Tour" by Lady Gaga is an entertaining dvd that features many of her greatest songs. This collection shows Lady Gaga musically pouring her heart out in the songs with compelling artistic effect. My two favorite songs in this dvd are "So Happy I Could Die" and "Born This Way". In "So Happy I Could Die" she is wearing what appears to be an angel-themed costume. Please understand that I intend to live a long and happy life. However, this concert performance of "So Happy I Could Die" resonated with me because the implied meaning appears to be about always finding ways to always look for happiness and have fun. "Born This Way" is her last performance on this dvd that sends a message of believing in one's own beauty. I am glad that she chose "Born This Way" as the last track for her dvd concert performance. This is because I definitely needed to be reminded of the underlying message from "Born This Way." I also like the bonus features included. For example, she is seen meeting one of her mentors backstage (Liza Minnelli). The meeting proves to sentimental and uplifting as Liza Minnelli encourages Lady Gaga to continue going after her dreams. In the bonus features, Lady Gaga is also seen embracing and appreciating two among many of her biggest fans. "The Monster Ball Tour" dvd is great for anyone that has enjoyed any of her concerts and/or musical tracks.

"Silence" by Delerium featuring Sarah Mclachlan
"Celtic Queen" by Galahad

"Scarbourough Fair" by Marshall and Alexander
"The Emerald Princess" by Elane
"Everlasting" by Xandria
"ATi Korita Vu" by Reeyja
"Close Your Eyes" by DP. EX5
"Bird of Paradise" by Sally Oldfield
"Kirianama" (Angel of Freedom) by Sanave
"The Singing Nightingale" by Lyriel
"Strange Way" by Rise and Fall of a Decade
"Turn the Key" by Lingua Mystica

I personally became more interested in hearing the Mystic Spirits compilation series when hearing "Magic Fields" by X-Perience from a previous collection. "Mystic Spirits: The Chants of Paradise" is best for those who like to collect music from the Mystic Spirits editions and/or new age music featuring various artists.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Magic of America's Greatest HitsNovember 30, 2011
America's Greatest Hits contain a mix of life themes that are relatable for many people. Of course, the following well-known hits are on this collection such as: "A Horse With No Name," "Ventura Highway," and "You Can Do Magic". "A Horse With No Name" is an interesting musical tale with vivid descriptive imagery. "Ventura Highway" appears to be about life transitions. "You Can Do Magic" is about a woman who brings healing and positive energies to the singer's life. However, I also enjoyed the following songs that have fun-loving themes: "World of Light," "Paradise," and "Woman Tonight." "World of Light" symbolizes a happy message of unity. "Paradise" is a good musical gem about living in a place that evokes a sense of peace and optimism. "Woman Tonight" is a daring song about someone being asked to be a "night companion." America's Greatest Hits are suitable for the many who enjoy classic rock music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Selection of Taylor Swift HitsNovember 26, 2011

Taylor Swift's "Speak Now Tour" cd and dvd set is phenomenal. I first listened to her cd and was glad to hear the concert performances of the fan favorites and covers of other tunes. I also took the time to watch her concert showing which also turned out to be worthwhile. The following are musical tracks that stood out the most for me from both the cd and dvd: "Sparks Fly", "Better Than Revenge," "Fearless," "I'm Yours," "Hey Soul Sister," and "Drops of Jupiter". In addition, the selection of "Love Story" as the last concert song for the dvd showing was a great choice. Taylor Swift's "Speak Now Tour" cd/dvd combo is best for the many who like Taylor Swift's singing and/or open-minded in listening to country/country pop music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enticing Music Here and NowNovember 21, 2011
This review is from: Here And Now (Audio CD)
"Here And Now" by Nickelback highlights a strong musical debut since the Dark Horse album. I personally enjoyed the Dark Horse collection, and have found "Here and Now" to be even better. "Here and Now" contains some fun and catchy rock tracks that beg for radio airplays and potential music videos. The following is my humble opinion on the analysis of these tracks and their meanings:
1. This Means War 9/10: This song starts the collection off pretty strong. It appears to be about having a tenacious and fighting spirit even in the face of opposition.
2. Bottoms Up 9/10: This is an anthem that clearly symbolizes having fun. This track would be an obvious choice for a gathering involving drinking and partying.
3. When We Stand Together 10/10: "When We Stand Together" is a very heartfelt musical tune about being united and helping one another out whenever possible. In my humble opinion, "When We Stand Together" is very relevant for what is currently happening through the media and other channels.
4. Midnight Queen 10/10: "Midnight Queen" is a fun song about meeting up with someone who knows how to enjoy the nightlife, and is uninhibited.
5. Gotta Get Me Some 10/10: "Gotta Get Me Some" denotes a catchy musical tune about a woman who is gifted with beauty, a happy spirit, and knows how to make the best of life.
6. Lullaby 10/10: "Lullaby" is a very beautiful song about having the emotional strength to carry on regardless of how challenging life may get. In addition, "Lullaby" appears to be a touching message about being aware that help is always available, and that life circumstances can always improve.
7. Kiss It Goodbye 9/10: "Kiss It Goodbye" is a very racy tune about the trials and tests for breaking into Hollywood life. I can easily see "Kiss It Goodbye" as a theme song to a reality show about aspiring superstars.
8. Trying Not to Love You 10/10: "Trying Not to Love You" is a compelling musical story about fighting uncontrollable feelings of love for someone else. In addition, "Trying Not to Love You" appears to be about the love growing stronger for someone even if the admirer tries to forget.
9. Holding On to Heaven 10/10: "Holding On to Heaven" is a gorgeous rock melody about being in a relationship with someone that brings a blissful and heaven on earth experience.
10. Everything I Wanna Do 10/10: "Everything I Do" is a great rock song about spending time with a person that is very carefree, wild, and fun-loving.
11. Don't Ever Let It End: 9.5/10: "Don't Ever Let It End" is an uplifting rock ballad about enjoying the weekend with a pleasant person who is so enjoyable to be around. "Don't Ever Let It End" appears to symbolize the time spent as being so happy that the singer does not want the experience to end so soon.
I am completely aware that others may have different ratings and/or opinions on the following songs. However, in my modest opinion any of the following six songs would make for good radio play, concert songs, and/or music videos: Midnight Queen, Gotta Get Me Some, Lullaby, Trying Not to Love You, Holding On to Heaven, and Everything I Wanna Do.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I enjoyed the Dark Horse album, and like "Here and Now" even more. "Here and Now" also compares to "All the Right Reasons" in a positive and exciting way. In addition, "Here and Now" shows the musical growth of Nickelback and how their creative output keeps getting better. "Here and Now" is definitely recommended for anyone that enjoys any of the songs from "All the Right Reasons" and/or "Dark Horse."

5.0 out of 5 stars Universal HarmonyNovember 15, 2011
There are three words that I feel accurately describe Universal Religion Chapter Five: Musical Aural Bliss. This collection appeals to vocal trance listeners, and those that are fine with listening to songs that contain only music. This is because "Universal Religion" contains both types of tracks. My two favorite tracks on "Universal Religion: Chapter Five" are "Fight the Fire" by Andy Moor (featuring Sue McLaren) and "An Angel's Love" by Alex M.O.R.P.H. (featuring Sylvia Tosun). "Fight The Fire" is about having passionate feelings for another person. "An Angel's Love" appears to be about being in love with someone that brings the essence of happiness to themselves and those around them. "Universal Religion Chapter Five" is recommended for the many who would like to listen to some of the most recent trance music.

"When We Stand Together" by Nickelback is a heartfelt song about unity. The song's message appears to be about how healing it can be for people of all backgrounds to harmoniously join forces. I felt that this song is a good introduction to their new album. "When We Stand Together" is only one of the great songs that is on their upcoming album. They currently have a free online preview of their other musical tracks via itunes. Both this song and the free online preview have me looking forward to their new collection. "When We Stand Together" is an uplifting "teaser track" to their upcoming album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Electronica LoungeNovember 13, 2011
This review is from: Luxury Lounge (MP3 Music)
"Luxury Lounge" is a well-sorted collection of various electronic/chill-out musical tracks. "Luxury Lounge" is best for the moments of unwinding and taking it easy. This is because the music on this cd is very relaxing. The twenty five tracks on this cd contain an even mix of life themes (such as being in love, happiness etc.). "For All Seasons" by Lemongrass and "Synchrosmile" by Ohm Square really stood out for me because of the unique combo of vocals and music. "Go" (featuring Selda Kaya) is also a good track with lush melodies and strong singing. "Luxury Lounge" is best for those who enjoy chill-out music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Howl's Supernatural CastleNovember 12, 2011
This review is from: Howl's Moving Castle (DVD)
"Howl's Moving Castle" is a great movie that implies the powerful message of how things are not always as they seem. Sophie plays a spirit who is reliable, down-to-earth, and is doing the best she can with the hand dealt to her in life. Her life is forever changed when she encounters a man named Howl. Howl met her when she was accosted by a couple of men. From their first meeting clues are given to how the movie is going to unfold. This is because Howl commands Sophie to act natural within moments of their initial meeting. Howl feels at ease with her, and even engages in some magic within minutes of meeting her. Another female is interested in him, and is a character foil to Sophia. The following are some of the other characters that play a pivotal role in this film: Howl's apprentice Markl, Calcifer, and Madame Suliman. Howl's Moving Castle is highly recommended for anyone who enjoyed any of the Harry Potter Movies. This is because "Howl's Moving Castle" contains various magical and supernatural themes that are related to many of the metaphorical "Harry Potter" messages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong LionessNovember 12, 2011

This review is from: Lioness (Amazon Video)
"Lioness" is a great film about a group of female soldiers that were a pivotal part of the early stages of the Iraq war. The film shares their feelings and experiences while they simultaneously juggle other facets of life. It features five of the women who were directly involved in the combat: Specialist Shannon Morgan,Specialist Rebecca Nava,Captain Anastasia Breslow,Staff Sergeant Ranie Ruthig, and Major Kate Gurromsen. Captain Lory Manning is also featured discussing her perspective on women involved in combat. This film is worth watching because it tells the unique perspective of how these brave women felt about their jobs while simultaneously grappling with the political debate regarding the pros and cons of placing females at the frontline. It is also very insightful when they courageously open their hearts on a couple of circumtances. For example, it pulled at my heartstrings when one of the women described an emotionally charged experience of an incident in Iraq. She was inside one of the vehicles when some of the local children were climbing on it. Another incident shows the females congregating together and watching a history channel documentary about the current conflict. They are justifiably concerned about the omission of female names. This was even with one of the officers mentioning how at least 25 females were available for the event being featured. I completely understand that many brave men fight in these wars. However, this documentary proves that more women also deserve similar recognition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Winter JoyNovember 9, 2011
This review is from: Winter Poem (Audio CD)
I am fortunate to have this music as a result of a gift card from my husband (my birthday was yesterday). "Winter Poem" by Secret Garden contains themes of happiness and victory in the musical tracks. For example, "The Dream" (feat Moya Brennan) is a gorgeous musical story about going after your dreams regardless of how events may transpire. "Make A Wish" contains tranquil melodies and invokes a sense of relaxation and serenity. "Fionnuala's Cookie Jar" is an uplifting musical creation that contains a clever mix of celtic and new age melodies. The timing of the drums in "Fionnuala's Cookie Jar" adds even more of a fun rhythmic tone to the song. My overall favorite musical tune would have to be "Powered by Nature" (feat. Espen Grjotheim & Tracey Campbell). "Powered by Nature" is a powerful music mini-story that is about someone whose inner spirit is charged by the many beautiful creations of the outdoors. "Winter Poem" by Secret Garden is great for music lovers that listen to a variety of musical genres and/or those who are open to listening to new age music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Comedy Adventures of Harold and KumarNovember 5, 2011
" A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" is a funny comedy movie that brings the characters of Harold(played by John Cho) and Kumar (played by Kal Penn) back together for the holidays. Harold is doing very well for himself and is working to make the Christmas festivities enjoyable for his wife and her family. Harold's father-in-law (portrayed by Danny Trejo) plays a very influential role in the movie's plot. Kumar initiates the reunion with stopping by Harold's house carrying a unique package. Neil Patrick Harris also features in the movie with his hilarious performance as a Broadway actor that also happens to be a womanizer. All the actors and actresses played their roles well with strong comedic effect. It was very entertaining to see Harold and Kumar go to great lengths to rescue themselves from unexpected events. This movie is best for anyone that enjoys humorous comedy.

"All Hits" by All Saints contains a great mix of their best musical work. This cd contains some upbeat pop music with themes relating to love, overcoming challenges, and happiness. I enjoyed listening to "Feel You" and "I Know Where It's At". "Feel You" is about being in love with someone that brings out the best in you through various ways. "I Know Where It's At" is a catchy musical track about having fun and knowing about making the best of life. My favorite overall favorite musical beat is "Pure Shores". "Pure Shores" is a unique melody about being close to a love interest. "All Hits" by All Saints is great to get for the many who enjoy pop music from the 1990s and the early millennium (2000s).

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun For D.C. Area BargainsOctober 31, 2011
"The Cheap Bastard's Guide To Washington D.C.: Secrets of Living the Good Life-For Free" is definitely an informative guide. Fortunately, I found out about this book via the amazon recommendations button. This guide contains some extensive details on the various plays, museums, and other events in the area for low-cost and/or free. Before this book, I originally thought that one had to have connections and/or know many people in order to get into some of the plays for free and/or at a discount. Thanks to this guide I now am aware that this is far from the case, and I only wish that I knew about this book six months ago. However, as they say "better late than never". There is something for everyone in this book. For example, I found some good information on the various dance classes (for whenever I feel courageous enough to take the leap). In addition, I found some detailed listings on the various meditation classes and poetry places. The wide range of recreational classes, comedy centers, and tours are also included. This book is great for anyone who is looking for a multi-dimensional range of activities to do in the D.C. area.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventure In BootsOctober 31, 2011
This review is from: Puss in Boots (DVD)
I must say that "Puss In Boots" is a very creative and dynamic movie that is suitable for all ages. Antonio Banderas brilliantly plays the role of the cat "Puss In Boots" who is back to engage in a journey to reclaim his honor. Salma Hayek also does a clever performance as "Kitty Softpaws". Kitty Softpaws ends up accompanying Puss in Boots in his quest to restore his reputation, and capture magic beans. Zach Galifianakis (from the Hangover movie) plays the role of Humpty Dumpty. Humpty Dumpty is a past friend of Puss in Boots and greatly shapes his character evolution through subtle psychological tests. Billy Bob Thornton (of the Bad Santa movie) and Amy Sedaris play the "outlaws" Jack and Jill. Jack and Jill have the magic beans that Puss in Boots wants to covet. My only caveat with this film is that Jack and Jill were intentionally made to be overweight, plain-looking, and evil. This reinforces the stereotype that only attractive people are capable of humanity and compassion. It is common knowledge that there are beautiful people that are both cold and calculating. I would have liked to see villain characters that reflected "wolf in sheep's clothing" rather than the usual generic stereotype of only plain people being abrasive. Aside from this, "Puss in Boots" is an engaging animation movie. I would highly recommend this film for anyone that enjoyed any of the Shrek films.

5.0 out of 5 stars Playful Codes and BattleshipsOctober 25, 2011
"Secret Codes and Battleships" by Darren Hayes is a superb album. I strongly concur with other fans who say that the wait for this album was worth it. There are so many wonderful musical tracks on this cd that it is challenging to pinpoint which ones were the best. I also completely understand that personal musical favorites are going to be subjective, especially with this collection. In addition, songs of "Secret Codes and Battleships" contain fun and exciting dance/pop elements. I would have to pinpoint the musical diamonds of "Taken by the Sea" and "God Walking Into the Room" as my two personal favorites. "Taken by the Sea" appears to be about coming to terms with having romantic feelings for someone that would conflict with what is logically acceptable. "God Walking Into the Room" is a high-quality musical track about knowing someone that has multiple positive qualities. The deluxe edition is worth it because of the excellent additional musical tracks that contain musical versions of mini stories (including a strong "Attic" remix of "Talk Talk"). "Secret Codes and Battle Ships" is recommended for many who enjoy any one of Darren Hayes musical tracks.

"Home & Design" magazine is a very innovative publication that contains images of various homes in the Washington D.C. area. This magazine piqued my interest due to the intent of both my husband and I to purchase our own house by November 2014 in the D.C. area. There are some great house magazines available, but "Home &Design" features what can be found in the area that I live. I say this with the psychological awareness that it is easier to visualize what is possible for home buying when the pictures come from the local area. For instance, the Fall 2011 issue features some captivating pictures of outside patios and living rooms. One of my favorite photographs from this issue is an image on page 119 taken of a bedroom and yoga loft with a master bath visual (which was courtesy of Ponte Mellor Architects, LTD). "Homes & Design" is best for the many who wish to glean inspiration from some high-quality home photographs of the Washington D.C. area.

Sting: The Best of 25 Years is a really well-assembled collection among some of his finest musical gems. Many of the songs are from both the 80's and the 90's. My top three favorite songs in this collection are "We'll Be Together", "Fields of Gold", and "Whenever I Say Your Name". "We'll Be Together" is a great musical story of meeting up with someone for a happy time. "Fields of Gold" appears to be about experiencing the feeling of joy. "Whenever I Say Your Name" is a good musical duet with Mary J Blige that seems to symbolize the strong emotional feelings of love. Sting:The Best of 25 Years is best for many who like any of the songs by Sting.

This song appears to be a therapeutic message of staying self-confident regardless of what emerges in life. For me, getting this collection is a form of consolation due to the fact that his concert was already sold out in my area by the time I decided to try to get a ticket. I would highly recommend this cd for anyone that enjoys hearing his vocals and/or songs of the rock/electronica music genre.

"Drive" by Incubus is a very inspirational song about embracing all facets of life. I enjoy listening to "Drive" because it helps remind me to have self-confidence and emotional strength at all times. The fact that the singer admits to feeling fear, but imagines how life would be like through a happier perspective is musically therapeutic to me. "Drive" is best for anyone that craves musical tracks about making the best of life regardless of the external circumstances that may emerge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Musical Classics of Duran DuranOctober 17, 2011
This review is from: Greatest (Audio CD)
The greatest hits collection of Duran Duran contains many of their memorable musical tracks from the 1980's and the 1990's. One of the great features of this compilation is that you get a decent number of songs for this collection (19 of them). I also like how they start this collection with "Is There Something I Should Know", and end It with "Come Undone". My favorite songs in this collection are "A View to a Kill", "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Ordinary World", and "Come Undone". This collection is best for many who enjoy any of the songs by "Duran Duran".

5.0 out of 5 stars Real StrengthOctober 11, 2011
This review is from: Real Steel (DVD)
"Real Steel" is a strong movie about a man named Charlie(played by Hugh Jackman) that makes his living putting up robots to fight in various settings (boxing, wrestling, streetfighting etc.). The robots are neither good or evil, but basically shaped by the owner's intent. Dakota Goyo plays his 11 year old son Max who eventually becomes interested in robot-fighting as well. Robot fighting has become such a strong influence in Charlie's life to the extent that he is met with some confrontational situations. For example, Kevin Durand plays his archrival Ricky. Ricky does not hesitate to aggressively confront Charlie when he wins the robot matching victories. Ricky even boasts of the time that he "handled" Charlie to settle a gambling debt from a robot fight. Charlie's son Max influences him to have more of a fighter spirit in all areas of his life. In addition, Charlie's character starts to become more careful in his robot fighting dealings as the movie progresses. This is attributed to the positive influence of his son, and the stronger connection of father and son that increases as the movie progresses. "Real Steel" is best for anyone that enjoys robot action films.

This review is from: Femmes Fatales (Audio CD)
"Femmes Fatales" is a great selection of electronica/dance songs that contain performances by women with great singing voices. My two favorite songs on this cd are "Red Light Go" by Mea Fisher and "Waiting For You" by Layla. "Red Light Go" appears to be a musical track about changing up the usual routine in life. "Waiting For You" is a great track about someone baring their soul by admitting their feelings after much time has already passed. The essential fact for anyone that enjoys vocal trance is the inclusion of lyrics in the tracks. "Femmes Fatales" is best to get for anyone that enjoys high energy and adrenaline raising dance, pop, trance, and/or electronica music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Savage Garden CreationsOctober 5, 2011
This greatest hits collection by Savage Garden really does contain some great collections of their songs. I really enjoyed how this cd has musical tracks of various emotional moods. For example, there is "Truly, Madly, and Deeply" for a romantic mood and "So Beautiful" to invoke a happy mood. "Crash and Burn" is also a very gorgeous song that appears to be about being there for someone in both their good and challenging times. I would have to say that it is a tie between these three songs as my favorite musical gems: "To the Moon and Back", "I Knew I Loved You", and "I Want You". This collection is best for anyone that enjoys pop music and/or melodies by Darren Hayes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Potential FuturesOctober 5, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"Change Your Future Through Time Openings" is a very unique book containing ideas on tapping into your future self. The following is some of the information discussed:
Why Take and Interest In Time: There is details discussed on how your life holds potential in creating a happier future.
How to Clear Obstacles: There are inspiring stories of people who overcame certain challenges, and came out stronger as a result of them.
Controlling How We Fall Asleep: There are certain key elements shared on using dreams to attract helpful solutions.
I admit that I was obviously compelled to get this book because of my desire to be more aware of the circumstances that I'm creating for myself. For instance, I intend to rejoin the military after December 2012 because I miss the social camaraderie and the sense of belonging that I experienced during the 8.5 years being a part of it. However, tapping into both present and past potential realities are important to me because of the fulfilling journey that I desire to take on the way to this one of many personal goals that I have for myself.
"Changing Your Future Through Time Openings" is best for anyone that is open to reading a book that combines spirituality with ideas of creating a brighter tomorrow.

This review is from: The YES Movie (Amazon Video)
I too concur that this "The Yes Movie" is a great documentary about entrepreneurs who bravely and successfully took chances in creating their own destiny via starting their own businesses. What I enjoyed the most about watching this is that many of these people interviewed were truly self-made (came from modest backgrounds and became very wealthy). In addition, there were many helpful tips shared, such as the helpful advice to go ahead and consider taking the plunge even if one still thinks that they need more knowledge and/or a more ideal time before starting. I also found it inspiring that the reporter was careful and wise to select men and women from various backgrounds and walks of life. I felt my own personal energy raise with inspiration because I was witnessing people who have shrewdly took life into their own hands. I came away with some creative ideas on some of the dynamics needed in accomplishing personal goals. "The Yes Movie" is most likely to be enjoyed by inspirational documentary enthusiasts of self-made millionaires who successfully took chances despite whatever obstacles that initially appeared.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Adventurous Time"September 27, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"Adventure Time: My Two Favorite People" is a very well put together compilation of some of the best episodes from season one. I only wish that the creators would have already included all of the episodes from season one. On the positive side, there are 12 innovating and original Adventure Episodes contained, and the following is the listing for anyone still considering:
1) My Two Favorite People
2) Evicted!
3) Ricardo the Heart Guy
4) Trouble in Lumpy Space
5 Tree Trunks
6) Dungeon
7) The Pods
8) The Limit
9) Go With Me
10) The Eyes
11) The Chamber of Frozen Blades
12) To Cut a Woman's Hair
There is also a special feature of: Little Did You Know. My overall favorite episode in this collection is "The Pods". "The Pods" is a hilarious episode that involves Finn and Jake agreeing to take up a magic bean quest for one of the knights who makes his transition to another realm. Two of the beans are good, and one is very sinister. The plot gets very funny when each of the three beans sprouts out items that actually appear at first neutral. I want to disclose more details, but I prefer to keep in mind those who have yet to watch this episode. My only slight caveat with these series involves the "To Cut a Woman's Hair" episode. I respectfully say this because there is one character that is depicted as an ugly witch who happens to be evil, and wants hair. First off, beauty is subjective and in the eye of the beholder. This character fits the classic stereotype of only beautiful people being angelic and anyone plain-looking being mean. I say this because it is common knowledge that there are very attractive people in the world that are very mischievous and calculating. Then there are individuals who may fall outside of the conventional societal view of beauty, but have great compassion and kindness towards others around them. However, I still recommend this "Adventure Time" collection for anyone who has enjoyed watching any of the "Adventure Time" episodes on television and/or those who enjoy their cartoons with elements that contain hybrids of fantasy/adventure themes.

In addition, I enjoyed the eclectic range of theme songs contained in this collection such as "Respect" by Kelly Clarkson and "Magic" by Darren Hayes. Another musical gem on this cd that struck a positive chord within me is "If You Believe" by Andrea Remanda. 5.0 out of 5 stars We Found FunSeptember 27, 2011
This review is from: We Found Love (MP3 Music)
"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris is a very catchy and upbeat song. Calvin Harris is a popular Scottish DJ who has worked with famous pop stars such as Kylie Minogue for her 2007 "X" album. "We Found Love" is a very cheerful tune about finding romance with someone that is unique and is healing to be around. This musical track also appears to be about finding the excitement of passionate love unexpectedly. I enjoyed the high-energy and bright dance/electronica music that accompanied it. This song definitely piques my interest in getting her upcoming album because of the happy and euphoria inducing lyrics contained in "We Found Love". "We Found Love" is best for anyone that has enjoyed any of Rihanna's romantic musical gems such as "Umbrella" and/or Rehab. In addition, "We Found Love" is also best for anyone that enjoys dance and/or electronica music.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The Humorous Paul Adventures"September 20, 2011
"Paul" is a hilarious and quirky science fiction film about two comic book fanatics (Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings) that have an unexpected alien encounter that changes their life. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost play characters that have come all the way from England to attend a Comic-Con event that is held in California. Naturally, they also want to explore other parts of America as well. During their road trip they accidently run into an alien that calls himself Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen). The movie starts out with some good humour, but the chances to laugh really increase once Paul persuasively convinces Graeme and Clive to take him to where he needs to go. Jason Bateman plays a scandalous but crafty government agent who is also determined to capture Paul for his own personal ulterior motives. "Paul" is a great movie to watch for those who enjoy films that contain elements of comedy and/or science fiction.

"Dreams" by Van Halen is a very catchy song that implies a message of encouragement to pursue personal goals regardless of obstacles. I was about 13 years old when I first heard "Dreams" by Van Halen. This is also one of the musical tracks that provided much needed encouragement for me to go after my plans during the first six months when I transitioned from active duty military life, and decided to make some essential changes in my life. This musical track is still part of my playlist over two years later because of the positive reinforcement message it gives me to believe in myself regardless of how things may appear on the outside. This musical gem is also one of my top five favorite songs of all-time. "Dreams" by Van Halen is best to get for anyone that is looking for an uplifting song that contains themes of tenacity and self-confidence in the pursuit of dreams.

"Night Shades' by Cobra Starship is a very high energy dance/pop cd. "Night Shades" contains music that can be played at a party because of the exciting music contained within it. My favorite musical track on this cd is "You Make Me Feel" (featuring Sabi). The music video accompanying this cd is enjoyable to watch because it shows themes of various people smiling and having a good time at what appears to be an exciting nightclub. The selection of Sabi is well thought out and very original. This sentiment is due to the fact that I saw Sabi perform with Britney Spears this past summer at one of her concerts. They were both singing "(Drop Dead)Beautiful", and Sabi lent very good vocals to the song. "Night Shades" by Cobra Starship is great for many who enjoy their music with themes of fun and savoring the sweetness of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The Powerful Witch"September 11, 2011
This review is from: The Good Witch (Hallmark) (DVD)
"The Good Witch" is a great upbeat film starring Catherine Bell as emotionally resilient and benevolent witch Cassandra Nightingale. The character of Cassandra Nightingale moves to the town of Middleton because she inherited a mansion, and is hoping that the long-time residents welcome her. She soon bonds with a widowed policeman father Jake Russell (played by Chris Potter) and his two children. She opens up her own business of magical items and soon encounters resistance from those who have a challenging time accepting her and figuring her out due to her unique personality. The character of Cassandra Nightingale has a big heart, but it matters little to the Mayors wife Martha (played by Catherine Disher). Martha instantly treats Cassandra coldly upon first meeting her. Martha eventually petitions to try to drive Cassandra to leave town again. Cassandra at first considers and wonders whether she made the right decision in moving to Middleton. This is only because she longs to find a place where she can feel like she belongs and is accepted. Cassandra Nightingale yearns for the sense of acceptance and belonging. Jake Russell sees the good and potential in her and urges Cassandra to reconsider her decision in moving. He persuasively reasons with her by mentioning how she has ran away from so much in her life that she needs to stop running away. Hearing this statement resonated with me, and I am glad that I followed the prompting of my spirit to watch this movie. I only say this because I appreciate where I live, and I now intend to permanently settle in the D.C. area. However, less than three months ago (May 2011), I admit that I at first wondered if I made the right decision in choosing to stay in the D.C. area. In addition, I also know what its like to desire the feeling of a sense of belonging and acceptance. Luckily, I received a series of personal confirmations that choosing to stay in the D.C. area is the most joyful decision. For me to watch a movie that featured a character going through a similar situation with this was very healing for me. I intend to watch the other movie sequels to "Good Witch". "Good Witch" is best for anyone that enjoys a feel good and uplifting film to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Careful and Wise DebutanteSeptember 11, 2011
"The Reluctant Debutante" is a great movie about two women who want to marry off their daughters to men that belong to the financially elite class of England. Kay Kendall plays concerned stepmother Sheila Broadbent to Sandra Dee's character of her cautious stepdaughter Jane Broadbent. Angela Lansbury plays the clever patriarch Mabel who also wants to match her daughter Clarissa (played by Diane Claire) with a bachelor from the upper class. I label Jane Broadbent's character as shrewdly cautious because her stepmother tries to at first hook her up with a man by the name of David Fenner (played by Peter Myers). Jane is little interest in David Fenner, and is actually ends up falling in love with David Parkson (played by John Saxon). The problem with this is that her family mistakenly takes David Parkson to have a reputation as a womanizer, when it is actually David Fenner. In addition, Sheila Broadbent at first has no idea of the true status of David Parkson. Sheila Broadbent initially tries to match her stepdaughter with David Fenner, but eventually backs off when Jane Broadbent makes it clear that she is in love with Mr. Parkson. There are frequent movie scenes various high society dance balls in order to paint a clearer picture of what the two mothers are doing in order to match their children with their future husbands. "The Reluctant Debutante" is a good film to watch if you enjoy watching films about the aristocratic classes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daring and Experimental BeatsSeptember 11, 2011
"Nothing But the Beat" by David Guetta is a very exciting and happy cd that has dance, pop, and electronica music tones in many of the musical tracks. What I enjoy the most about this cd is that David Guetta has the courage in pushing the musical envelope with the musical tracks and the artists that he chose to collaborate with. For example he teams up with Snoop Dogg for the daring club track of "Sweat". He does the very risqué and catchy "Little Bad Girl" with Taio Cruz and Ludacrais. The musical track that is "Lunar" (with Afrojack) is also very good and unique. However, my personal top three favorite tracks are "Night of Your Life" (with Jennifer Hudson), "Titanium" (with Sia), and "Turn Me On" (featuring Nicki Minaj). "Night of Your Life" is a provocative musical track about someone mentioning how they intend to give a memorable night to their date as long as they are treated right. "Titanium" is a fantastic musical gem about being emotionally strong (a.k.a psychologically bulletproof) even in the face of whatever judgement and/or treatment is projected outward. My overall favorite song is "Turn Me On" (featuring Nicki MinaJ). "Turn Me On" is an intense musical track about wanting to spend time with a crush and/or romantic interest. "Nothing But the Beat" by David Guetta is a great cd for anyone that enjoys an eclectic range of music that contains a creative combination of electronica, dance, and pop music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Songs by RihannaSeptember 11, 2011
This review is from: Loud (Audio CD)
"Loud" by Rihanna is very fun to listen to. The songs on this "Loud" collection are up-tempo and enjoyable to listen to. My favorite song on this collection by Rihanna is "Cheers (Drink to That)" with Avril Lavigne. I enjoyed the "Cheers" song because it sent a message to strive to be happy and have fun regardless of what others think or say about you. This meaning is essential to hear because it is more beneficial for overall well-being to avoid concerning oneself with what others may think of them. I say this more from a more aware perspective because I have personally found that others are going to think and/or say whatever they want regardless of personal joy level. Therefore, living your life towards what feels joyful is more important than being concerned about gossip. The "Cheers" musical track communicates this theme very well. "Loud" by Rihanna is great to get if you enjoy any of Rihanna's songs, especially "Umbrella" and/or "Drive". This is due to the fact that Rihanna's music on this cd is in the same upbeat spirit as those two songs.

"Celebrate" by DJ Bobo is a very uplifting, healing, and inspirational song. "Celebrate" is a beautiful musical track about pursuing one's goals regardless of what happens on the outside. It also seems to be a motivational song about consistently persisting through both the good times and challenging moments in life. The video to this song is original and colorful. There are great scenes where he is overcoming situations that are external manifestations of inner conflict. I believe that both the song and the musical video's ending send an implicit message to always be your own best friend. In addition, the meaning may also be about always giving yourself encouragement, and the permission to follow your dreams regardless of what emotional and/or spiritual support is displayed externally. "Celebrate" is a musical track that is recommended for many who enjoy happy and creative dance/pop songs.
